Legal for People who Lead | We are one of the largest certified woman-owned law firm in the Midwest.

About us

At Goosmann Law, we are the largest woman-owned law firm in the Midwest for trailblazers leading the way in America. We work for visionaries who take action. We give leaders the freedom to focus on what’s worth it. We help protect what you work hard for and get what you deserve. As attorneys, we are committed to stand for what’s right. Together we are agents of change, making a difference for people. In 2009, the Goosmann Law Firm was born of a woman who wanted to run a business when leading in the law wasn’t available to female lawyers. Now, as the largest woman-owned law firm in the Midwest, we stand by our values and beliefs prioritizing culture, diversity, and community. Our award-winning woman-owned leadership never goes unnoticed because we believe anyone can have a seat at the table. We understand leaders carry many titles ranging from CEO, coach, board president, mom and spouse. These titles should never hinder your success as an executive, parent, or advocate. We, as leaders together, are agents of change. Our RED approach - Ready, Execute, Deliver - gives our team a proactive and strategic mindset in business and the law. This “RED Philosophy” was created and defined by our CEO and Founder Jeana Goosmann in her bestselling book WORTH IT. In 2021, Jeana Goosmann was recognized for her leadership, receiving an award for Enterprising Women of the Year. At Goosmann, we’ve done billions of dollars in deals and disputes. Our attorneys are licensed in over 7 states across the Midwest and have a network of lawyers across the nation as members of the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF). Goosmann Law Firm has been named one of the fastest growing law firms in the US by the Law Firm 500 for 4 years in a row. Our locations include Omaha, NE, Sioux City, IA, Spirit Lake, IA, and Sioux Falls, SD. Business. Estates. Employment. Trial. Disputes.

  • 🚨 Corporate Transparency Act Update 🚨 The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has lifted the injunction against the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), reinstating its enforcement. This means businesses must comply with the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements. Here’s what you need to know: New Deadlines • Reporting companies created or registered before Jan. 1, 2024, have until Jan. 13, 2025, to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. (These companies would otherwise have been required to report by Jan. 1, 2025.) • Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after Sept. 4, 2024, that had a filing deadline between Dec. 3, 2024, and Dec. 23, 2024, have until Jan. 13, 2025, to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. • Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after Dec. 3, 2024, and on or before Dec. 23, 2024, have an additional 21 days from their original filing deadline to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. Goosmann Law Firm is here to help your business navigate these changes. Reach out with questions or for compliance guidance! https://lnkd.in/g4yTkKc3

Updates to Company Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Deadlines – Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Requirements Now in Effect (Again!) with short Deadline Extensions. FinCen Alert- In light of a December 23, 2024, federal Court of Appeals decision, reporting companies, except as indicated below, are once again required to file beneficial ownership information with FinCEN. However, because the Department of the Treasury recognizes that reporting companies may need additional time to comply given the period when the preliminary injunction had been in effect, they have extended the reporting deadline as follows: Reporting companies that were created or registered prior to January 1, 2024 have until January 13, 2025 to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. (These companies would otherwise have been required to report by January 1, 2025.) Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after September 4, 2024 that had a filing deadline between December 3, 2024 and December 23, 2024 have until January 13, 2025 to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after December 3, 2024 and on or before December 23, 2024 have an additional 21 days from their original filing deadline to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. Reporting companies that qualify for disaster relief may have extended deadlines that fall beyond January 13, 2025. These companies should abide by whichever deadline falls later. Reporting companies that are created or registered in the United States on or after January 1, 2025 have 30 days to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN after receiving actual or public notice that their creation or registration is effective. As indicated in the alert titled “Notice Regarding National Small Business United v. Yellen, No. 5:22-cv-01448 (N.D. Ala.)”, Plaintiffs in National Small Business United v. Yellen, are not currently required to report their beneficial ownership information to FinCEN at this time. ***For more details, contact your lawyer.***
