The demographic cliff presents a significant challenge for enrollment and financial stability in higher education, but can also lead to innovative opportunities for colleges looking to adapt. From our team at GMB, Tori Grandstaff shares four strategic moves that can help institutions thrive despite the shift: redefining value, reimagining spaces, strengthening community ties, and refining communication. Hear insights on how these strategies were applied at Hardin-Simmons University, where a bold redefinition of their message and identity led to increased applications and admits year-over-year. We’d love to hear from you! What strategies is your institution using to adapt to enrollment challenges? Let us know in the comments. Creating flexible, 21st-century learning environments starts with a thoughtful, intentional approach. Lake Orion Community Schools implemented a furniture pilot program to ensure that their learning spaces better support flexibility and student engagement. By testing various solutions and gathering feedback from students, teachers, and administrators, they transformed classrooms into adaptable environments that meet the needs of today’s learners. An exciting milestone to see! We’re proud to have been part of this incredible transformation alongside Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., bringing this innovative space to life for Kentwood Public Schools. This space offers students opportunities to enhance their skills, foster teamwork, and compete in both virtual and in-person tournaments. Check out the video to see how this space is empowering students in Esports!
What was once a classroom and storage space at East Kentwood High School is now a high-tech Esports gaming room. This dynamic space also serves as a hands-on learning environment, teaching students at Kentwood Public Schools coding, programming, and teamwork skills. O-A-K was honored to manage this project as part of the district's 2021 Bond Program. Design by GMB.
