Day 2 of the Unique Summit 2024 continued to tap into the theme of "Transforming Investment" and concluded two days of inspiring dialogue and collaboration in Cape Town. 🎉 Reflections on Co-Facilitating at the Global Startup Awards (Africa Edition) 🌍✨ I recently had the privilege of co-facilitating the Start up Showcase with @Shinead Bodill at the Global Startup Awards (Africa Edition) during the Unique Summit 2024 in Cape Town. The event was a phenomenal gathering of innovators, investors, and ecosystem builders from across the continent. With the theme "Transforming Investment," the summit celebrated the incredible innovation shaping Africa's entrepreneurial landscape. A highlight for me was engaging with the top 14 African startups who were recognised for their groundbreaking contributions to industries ranging from deep tech to sustainability As a co-facilitator, I witnessed firsthand how platforms like the Unique Summit spark meaningful connections and fuel collaboration within the startup ecosystem. The event not only underscored Africa’s potential as a global innovation hub but also reflected the power of shared vision in transforming communities and economies. Being part of such a transformative journey has reinforced my commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, sustainability, and impactful leadership across Africa. During the pre-summit activities, Will Green hosted some of our Unique Summit delegates from over 20 countries, including Botswana, Canada, Brazil, and Spain, for a unique opportunity to hike up Lion’s Head at 5:55 AM while getting to know the local tech and innovation ecosystem. Lion’s Head is definitely one of Cape Town’s most iconic attractions and this sunrise hike offered breathtaking views, meaningful conversations, and the perfect setting for networking and connection-building. This experience brought together startups, investors, and ecosystem builders, creating strong bonds leading up to the Unique Summit.
