🧬Spatial proteomics has been named 2024 Method of the Year by Nature Methods. This technique, which maps protein distributions within tissues with high resolution, is central to the #GLIOMATCH project, where we use it to study the glioblastoma tumour microenvironment. 🧠🔬 Project coordinator, Frederik De Smet's lab at KU Leuven Institute for Single Cell Omics (LISCO) contributes expertise in mIHC, advanced bioinformatics, and spatial mapping technologies like MILAN, Phenocycler, and Lunaphore’s COMET. Today we continue our #GBMAwarenessCampaign by sharing a post on the early symptoms and diagnosis of brain tumours. 🧠 🔬Brain tumours, such as GBM and pHGG, are highly aggressive and difficult to treat. Today is Glioblastoma Awareness Day (GBM Day) 🧠 On 17 July 2024, we come together to recognise GBM Day, a crucial initiative established to shed light on one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. 🎗️ As part of our GLIOMATCH #GBMAwarenessCampaign, we have asked Cancer Patients Europe - CPE Chair and Patient Advocate Francisco Lozano to share his thoughts on the impacts of research and policy in the field. On this day, we call for EU decision-makers to prioritise research and ensure equal access to the latest diagnostic tools and treatments across Europe.
