🚨 In 2008, I invested in a terminal server for my business, convinced it would save us money on IT support. Two years later, I shut it down. It cost me $125,000, but that “failure” became one of my greatest lessons. Here’s what I learned: 1️⃣ Give Up Doing It All Yourself Outsourcing IT wasn’t a failure—it was a solution. By staying in my zone of genius and letting experts handle IT, I freed myself to focus on growing the business. 2️⃣ Give Up the Fear of Making Mistakes Mistakes aren’t personal failures—they’re opportunities to learn. This mindset shift helped me approach challenges with confidence instead of hesitation. 3️⃣ Give Up Undervaluing Expertise The ROI of trusting experts is unmatched. Outsourcing IT improved our security, saved time, and allowed us to scale faster than I could have done alone. 💡 The Takeaway: Mistakes are expensive only if you don’t learn from them. Delegate, trust experts, and focus on what you’re uniquely equipped to do. 💬 Your Turn: What’s the most expensive mistake you’ve ever made? And what did it teach you? Let’s normalize learning from our failures. Share your story in the comments—I’d love to hear it! #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #MindsetShift#GiveUp

I admire this, Jesse Itzler A handwritten letter carries a unique, heartfelt touch that digital messages simply can’t replicate. The effort and personal connection it conveys make it a timeless keepsake. Inspired by Jesse's great idea, it’s time to give up digital messages and rediscover the art of handwritten letters. Start small—write to someone special once a month. It’s a meaningful way to slow down, deepen connections, and leave a lasting impression in a world of fleeting digital texts.
I’m still writing my letters… At the end of every year I take time to write about 20-50 handwritten letters to people who impacted my year. It’s important to let people know they are appreciated and I can tell you this from doing it a long time… they don’t forget it. Handwritten letters stand out. These are the people to consider: - The friends who showed up for the important things in your life. - Customer who impacted your business - Teachers that moved the needle for your kids - Your UPS driver that you’ve become pals with - The assistant that got you that meeting - The people that went above and beyond Now through the end of January carve out some time to write some handwritten letters. They work.

Give Up the Hustle: Why Slowing Down Leads to Faster Progress In today’s fast-paced world, the “hustle” mindset often glorifies constant busyness as a badge of honor. But does being busy always lead to meaningful progress? Frequently, the answer is no. In fact, slowing down can be one of the most effective strategies for achieving our goals. The Power of Slowing Down When we rush through tasks, we risk losing sight of what truly matters. Instead of making thoughtful decisions, we may find ourselves reacting to every demand and distraction. This scattershot approach can lead to burnout and diminished effectiveness. By slowing down, we can focus our energy on high-impact tasks that drive real progress. Inspired by "Right Effort" Drawing from the Buddhist concept of "right effort," we can channel our energy towards activities that align with our core values and goals. This means prioritizing tasks that have the greatest positive impact, rather than those that simply keep us occupied. The Importance of Reflection Incorporating regular reflection into our routines is vital. Consider setting aside a weekly “thinking time” to evaluate your priorities, assess your ongoing projects, and recalibrate as necessary. This intentional pause can help you identify what’s truly essential, allowing you to invest your time and energy more wisely. Take Action Now is the time to make a change. What’s one activity you can let go of this week that doesn’t add value? It could be a meeting that feels unproductive, an unnecessary commitment, or simply time spent on social media. By shedding these low-value activities, you can create space for what truly matters. Share your thoughts in the comments! Let's support each other on this journey towards a more meaningful and productive life. #giveupbook #Giveup #slowdown #righteffort

For years, I held onto beliefs that I wasn’t capable or deserving of success at a higher level. These thoughts kept me playing small and avoiding risks. When I began to challenge and let go of these beliefs, I noticed a significant shift in my confidence and the opportunities that came my way. I started taking bolder steps, which led to greater achievements. For others, I encourage you to identify the beliefs that hold you back. Challenge them, seek evidence of your capabilities, and surround yourself with positive influences that reinforce your potential. #businessmentorship #giveupmindset #giveupbook
