☄️ Congratulations to the Lunar Outpost team for being selected by Nasa to develop the next-generation lunar terrain vehicle! 🚀 This innovative vehicle will not only transport astronauts safely but will also perform autonomously, playing a crucial role in both crewed and uncrewed missions. This achievement marks a significant milestone in making the cislunar economy more accessible and sustainable. Lunar Outpost’s commitment to advancing space mobility is inspiring, and we are thrilled to see what they continue to achieve in space exploration.
In case you missed it, NASA selected the Lunar Dawn team, led by Lunar Outpost, to develop a next-generation lunar terrain vehicle for the Artemis campaign! Not only will the vehicle carry astronauts, but it will also operate remotely and autonomously enabling them to conduct vital scientific research on both crewed and uncrewed missions. When not in use by NASA astronauts, the vehicle will provide commercial services, contributing to a more accessible and sustainable cislunar economy. “Surface mobility is a critical capability for humanity’s future in space, and Lunar Outpost looks forward to driving value in the cislunar economy by providing a reliable, safe and capable vehicle that will be used to provide mobility to Artemis astronauts and perform critical missions autonomously on the Moon for commercial endeavors,” said Lunar Outpost CEO, Justin Cyrus. Lunar Dawn is one of three teams competing on Phase I with an expected down select to Phase II which will include driving the vehicle on the Moon. #TheNextLeap #LunarOutpost #Artemis #SpaceTech NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration
