The 2nd transnational project meeting for the KA2 VET Erasmus+ project "Genderate: Gender Mainstreaming in Technical Vocational Education and Training Providers" took place on November 19, in Bilbao, Spain. Our project aims to support the efforts of achieving gender equality in TVET, a gender equality that not only aims to empower females to join technical and vocational education but also to support the efforts of organisations for gender mainstreaming.  During the meeting, the progress of the project activities, including the mentoring sessions, local piloting in the TVET organisations, and dissemination progress, was discussed. The next steps were decided, and responsibilities were assigned. A big thank you to the hosting organisation  Politeknika Txorierri (ES) for their hospitality!

🚨Last week, the Portuguese government announced a new project which aims to ensure that careers in science, technology, engineering and maths are more inclusive to women. ‘Girls in STEM’ is the project, announced by Portugal's Minister for Youth and Modernisation, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, on the ‘Human centred govtech"’ panel at the Web Summit, which is due to start at the beginning of 2025. Raising awareness about the gender disparities in the TVET sector and empowering female students to continue their education in technical professions are some of the goals of our ERASMUS+ project. Mentoring Programme in TVET 👉 This week, our mentors are attending the webinars, organized by IDEC, on our Mentoring Programme. Participants are learning how to conduct mentoring sessions with their mentees.
