We’ve been making commercial deliveries for our customers since 2019, and we’ve done it with a focus on safety. To ensure a high level of safety continues, we recently committed to the most comprehensive Safety Case in the industry. A critical part of that commitment requires cooperation with first responders in the communities that we operate in. We plan to start scaling our freight-only networks once we have fully satisfied the independent assessment of our Safety Case. It’s no secret that there’s skepticism about autonomous vehicles becoming commonplace. The first AVs hit the road over a decade ago, but their journey to widespread deployment has been anything but smooth. There’s plenty of promise of improved safety and statistics that highlight the immense number of lives that could be saved, but if that data is to be widely accepted we need to start being real.
