23 ACRES PERMANENTLY PROTECTED in San Leon!!! We're finishing up 2024 strong by conserving Salt Bayou Preserve, bringing us to a total of ~417 acres conserved just this year! This critical coastal prairie habitat will eventually be open to the public for passive recreation and enjoyment, bringing much-needed natural space access to the coastal communities of San Leon, Bacliff, and Dickinson. We will implement habitat management efforts to enhance the ecological health and biodiversity of the property. Learn more about Salt Bayou Preserve at https://lnkd.in/gs3Fh5Vn This project has been funded in part by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under assistance agreement no. 4T-02F24301 to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. #landconservation #galvestonbay #sanleon

Have you heard about our Beezley Reef Restoration project? 🦪 This 40-acre oyster reef was completed in 2023 in partnership with the The Nature Conservancy and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Our teams continue to monitor the area to assess the health of the reef. Monitoring is an integral part of our restoration efforts. It's important to know what worked or what needs improvement in future projects, so we can better the health of our Bay for future generations. 🌊 Funding for this Project was provided by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation through the Gulf Environmental Benefit Fund. 🎥 Desi Farias, Mountain and Wave Films The views and conclusions contained in this document are those of the authors and should not be interpreted as representing the opinions, views, or policies of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Last week, TeamCITGO and some of our incredible local partners celebrated Thanksgiving with the city of Houston at the 75th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade! 🍂 🎉 The two CITGO floats were carefully designed to honor organizations that fuel our community. Our float, "Serving Houston," embodied the spirit of giving this holiday season and featured six incredible charities serving Houston’s most vulnerable communities: The Houston Food Bank, Catholic Charities USA Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, Kids' Meals, Inc., Second Servings of Houston, and The Beacon of Downtown Houston. But that’s not all—our CITGO Caring For Our Coast float was a showstopper! It highlighted our decade-long commitment to environmental stewardship. Local organizations such as Artist Boat, Inc., Galveston Bay Foundation, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Houston Audubon and Houston Parks Board joined us to celebrate the outstanding impact we've made together. #ThanksgivingParade #FuelingGood #CaringForOurCoast
