I’m struggling to find the right words, but I need to share something that’s weighing heavily on my heart. We recently lost our dear friend and colleague, Dylan Mecham to suicide. The pain of this loss is overwhelming, and I’m still in shock.The gaming industry can be incredibly harsh, and it often feels like a constant battle to get noticed and find your place. Dylan’s passing has hit me harder than I can express. I want to thank everyone who has shown support on the Fun Waffle Game Studio Page; it means so much to see our community come together in this difficult time. The messages I’ve received—thanking me for the opportunities we gave Dylan—have been a bittersweet reminder of how proud his family and friends were of him. But I can’t shake the feeling that I let him down. Dylan was with me from the very beginning of this project, sharing in every triumph and setback. He was my rock, always encouraging me to keep going when I felt like giving up. I’ll never forget those late nights we spent together, him diving into programming challenges with no experience, just because he wanted to help. His passion and dedication were incredible, and I truly believe this project wouldn’t have made it this far without him. I miss him so much already. It hurts to think that I couldn’t do more to support him when he needed it. I wish I could have been there for him like he was for me. But I know he would want me to keep pushing forward, and I’m determined to honor his memory.I will finish this project for him, and we’re already talking about ways to pay tribute to him. Dylan, I promise to carry your spirit with me as we move ahead. I hope you’re watching over us, and I hope you’re proud of what we create in your memory.Rest in peace, my friend. You will always be missed, and I will never forget you. 💔
