I know you.... You're a busy mom/wife/sister/aunt/co-worker/owner/mentor/EVERYTHING. I work with people just like you. I work with badasses. My clients are the ones who don’t take no for an answer. Who problem solve on the fly. They rarely know how it will work, but they know they will make it work. My clients are high achievers. They go all in. They say “yes”. They figure it out later. My clients are crushing life. It’s not perfect, but they’re killing it. They don’t have all the answers but they don’t let that stop them. My clients are the gold-star earners, the ones patting others on the back. My clients set goals, make plans, and get results. My clients fail. And they fail hard and fast. Then they get up, dust themselves off, and try again. They don’t have time to worry about it. They don’t look back. They have bumps, bruises, and scars from falling down so many times. They are beautiful because of it. My clients spend most of their time crushing their goals - at work, at home, and in relationships. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s exactly how they want it. They are loving life. Well, most of life. My clients are also hurting. They are in pain, they lay awake at night going through their to-do lists. They secretly wonder why all of this isn’t working. Their digestion is a mess, they have zero energy, and they have NO idea what to eat or feed their family.     I only fell about 16 times...🙄🤣 Ice is a great equalizer. It separates the newbies from the seasoned pros in about .2 seconds. But no matter how much you lift or do yoga, if you're not used to walking on ice, you're gonna fall. 🤣 And it's hilarious! We tried curling 🥌 last night for the time and man, I'm actually quite proud of myself for doing it, but also for not sustaining any serious injuries. 🤣 I've only watched curling once in the Olympics, years ago. I thought it was something people do when they need a less intense workout...ya know, like pickleball... Boy was I wrong!! About both curling AND pickleball! 🤣🤣🤣 Here are 5 things I learned last night about the sport: 1️⃣ Don't get too cocky on the ice. That's when you fall. And then fall again. Like I said, the ice is a great equalizer. 2️⃣ Speed is not helpful in curling. It's about strategy and actually not pushing the "rock" 🥌 at all. It's shocking how slowly it moves down the ice yet how far it actually goes. 3️⃣ The weird thing you move down the ice is called a "rock" 🥌. They are only made at one quarry in Scotland and cost over $2k each. They weigh 42 lbs each. 4️⃣ High school kids are always going to be better at sports than you. Watch them in awe, but don't try to do what they do. You will fall. 5️⃣ The most important part of curling is the drinking afterward...and socializing. We were told you can't leave until that happens. 🤣 By the end of the night, I actually stopped falling. It was pretty fun and I think I would do it again. I just need a little more practice...     You DO have time, you just don’t have the right priorities. Here’s what to do instead… One of the things I hear most often from people is that they don’t have time to work on their health goals. I know how this goes. They are doing everything for everyone else and puts themself last. You too? How this often shows up: ❌ Cooking meals for your entire family that THEY like but that don’t fit into how YOU want to eat. ❌ Driving your kiddo or grandkiddos to various sports and activities non-stop. ❌ Going from one thing to the next without having a second to breathe. ❌ Crashing on the couch at 8:00pm while the tv blares in the background. ❌ Saying yes to hosting another get-together, chair another committee, committing to another project. I get it. I’ve been there too. We all have our own version of “busy”. Some of those tasks, yes, are absolutely necessary. But here’s the thing... One of the concepts that I teach my clients is that they are already doing ALL THE THINGS. But they are probably not doing them in a healthy way. Let’s take cooking dinner for your family of picky eaters. You’re already cooking dinner right? How can you make it easier or simpler for you? How can you make dinner that they like while still eating what you want to support your health goals? This isn’t adding on anything extra. It’s simply reworking something you already do. Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Lindsay, my family won’t eat healthy food.” First, that’s probably not really true. Second, you’re probably not using the right recipes. Third, there may be a communication gap. I have worked with several busy moms whose husbands are “meat and potatoes guys” and their kids don’t like vegetables. Guess what most of them now eat? Kale. You WILL have the time to be healthy once you DECIDE to start making your health a priority. Healthy people have no more time than anyone else. If they can do it, so can you.
