    Co-Founder and CEO: Bird&Be

One of the themes I’ve been reflecting on as we close the year is how companies can go beyond utility to create moments of delight for their customers. At Bird&Be, we’re operating in a space where the stakes are high—fertility journeys are deeply personal, often stressful, and require nuanced care. That’s why we see it as our responsibility to make the process not only effective but also supportive and uplifting. ✨ This month, we’re running a campaign where every purchase includes the chance to win a free prenatal subscription for a year. It’s a simple initiative, but one that embodies what we believe in: making fertility care feel more accessible, less heavy, and just a little more hopeful, especially during the holidays when emotions tend to run high. For us, this is about more than a customer promotion; it’s about reinforcing the kind of brand we’re building. I’d love to hear how others in the health and wellness space are thinking about creating impact and delight for their customers—especially in categories that are inherently challenging. #reproductivecare #customerengagement #healthandwellness

    Building Queue 🍿

Today we are launching the first version of Queue on the web. Here's why you should care. https://www.queue.co. Over the last 2 years, millions of people all over the world have created their own Queues. These users have Queued and rated titles tens of millions of times, making Queue one of the largest dedicated movie and TV show review databases on the internet. Many titles on Queue have thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of user ratings! We realize we’ve created this massive amazing community that’s been gated behind a download and registration wall. It’s easy to get distracted by building apps with lots of bells and whistles and forget some of the basics. We’ve been hiding millions of insightful, clever, and funny reviews and streaming availability for hundreds of thousands of titles across 100+ countries and 400+ streaming services. Now it’s time for the rest of the internet to experience Queue. Queue users rate a title as dislike, meh, like, or love. For a quick assessment of popularity, we display a 0 - 100% Queue score, which is the percent of people that liked or loved that title. While sites like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes and their respective scores certainly scratch certain itches when figuring out whether a title is objectively ‘good’ or not, we believe that the Queue score will become part of that conversation, particularly when you’re asking “what do you regular people like me actually think about this title?”. Queue was built for the everyday consumer, and you can feel that throughout the core UX both in app and on web. And unlike some of our peers who pull in outside ratings to buff their stats to make their zombie apps feel more busy (you know who you are…and a few of you even follow me and are reading this right now 😉) everything you see on the app and website originated from a real life person who created a profile on Queue. Our v1 of web is read only - we have lots of exciting things planned for web, including full registration and functionality coming in 2025. The next time you can’t figure out where to watch something, or want to see a *true* audience score for a movie or show to decide if it’s worth your time, I hope you’ll consider joining millions of others and use our website or app. See you there.

    Managing Partner, Founder Collective

One of the highest compliments we can give a founder is calling them a “heat-seeking missile.” It means they’ll find their way to market no matter the obstacles. Broadlume’s founders, Todd Saunders and Dan Pratt, embody that spirit. Today’s announcement of their acquisition by Cyncly validates it—but honestly, anyone who met them early on could have seen it coming. I had the privilege of being their first institutional investor and joining their board nearly a decade ago, back when they were called AdHawk. Inspired by their Google ad sales days, Todd and Dan set out to help SMBs make smarter ad buys—a classic case of turning their job into a product. That product worked, scaling AdHawk to $1M+ in revenue with a diverse customer base. We were so impressed we invited them to present at our LP meeting in 2018. They showed up, delivered—and dropped a bombshell: they were pivoting. Flooring installers, a surprisingly large portion of their customers, presented an even bigger opportunity. Todd and Dan focused exclusively on this vertical, becoming the “Hubspot for Hardwood Flooring.” They off-boarded non-flooring clients, lost some revenue, but quickly snowballed back by doubling down on their ideal customer profile. From there, they didn’t just grow; they rolled up the industry. With $60M from PSG, they acquired companies, technology, customers, and decades of flooring expertise. M&A is a tightrope for startups, but Todd and Dan balanced it masterfully, building a powerhouse in an overlooked industry. Today’s acquisition is the culmination of their relentless drive. I couldn’t be prouder to have been their first institutional check. Of course, this wasn’t a straight line—no startup journey is. Broadlume faced struggles, like every company does. But Todd and Dan’s resilience exemplifies why I love this job. Entrepreneurship isn’t just a career; it’s a personality trait. It’s rare, and when you find it, it’s worth betting on. I may never write another check for a startup that sells vinyl tiles, but betting on people like Todd and Dan? I’ll do that every time.

Co-Founder & CEO @ REGAL | $5 Billion Revenue Driven for Our Customers

In 2013 I was not ready to found a company so I was looking for a role at an early stage tech startup that would let me have more ownership of the P&L, team and product direction. With some help from Jeremiah Daly, I met Oisin Hanrahan from Handy HQ about a GM role. Often described as a "mini-CEO" role, the General Manager role was a perfect combination of responsibility and challenge. And it's ultimately where I met my co-founder, Rebecca Greene, and learned of the challenges in contact centers that led to the founding of Regal.ai. I am so excited that we are hiring a GM for our AI Agent business now. They will report to me, and have a unique opportunity to deliver innovative AI solutions for our fantastic clients.
