ICF Credentialed Executive Coach | International Trainer (masterful with engagement) | Energetic and Insightful Keynote Speaker

It’s my birthday today and I’m celebrating all month! Birthdays are so special, this picture captures the gratitude I possess about life as well as my assignment. I’m so immensely grateful for my health, quality relationships, family and my life work. In this photo, I just received the most heartfelt compliment from a seasoned leader. I’m reminded of a quote a mentor shared with me several years ago… “Rather than pursuing to become a person of success, become a person of great significance.” Significance speaks to a life that’s not about us, it’s about making a difference in the lives of others. I get to do this perpetually! #birthday #gratitude #assignment

I’m excited to train this team of remarkable professionals again tomorrow! We have been partnering with this company for the last 6 years. I’m proud and humbled to share that we have several long-term clients with even longer years in partnership. We do not take it for granted that they call on us to deliver learning and development opportunities and coaching multiple times throughout the year. The reason is because of our intentionality and client centered delivery. The following 3 insights are incorporated into our daily operational success. Leaders, you may also apply these strategies to your team member retention approach. 1. Avoid Assumptive Communication: we never assume that we know all of the needs of our clients. We stay curious! 2. Exceptional & Fresh Service: we like to keep it fresh as we stand on excellence. 3. Demonstrate Reliability: Being dependable builds trust. Consistently following through on commitments, deadlines, and maintaining accountability makes our clients eager to work with us repeatedly. Embrace these strategies to build successful relationships with other businesses, your employees or loved ones. Absolutely, you may apply this information to your personal relationships. We believe in work life integration. Be patient, invest in nurturing connections, and focus on building mutual value. An investment in relationships pays the best fulfillment. #relationships #business #employees #lovedones

This amazing leader shared a perspective shifting quote today during our Amplify Mastermind… “You don’t have to win to win.” - LaKesha White At times, you simply could use a refining of thought or a redefine of a win. What you see is not all there is to see. #win #access #leadership

Confidence doesn't always come from believing in yourself today. It often stems from recalling the obstacles you overcame yesterday. A history of resilience can silence self-doubt. Challenges conquered are clues to hidden strengths. Past progress is proof of future potential. - Adam Grant

Wow! What a retirement celebration… amazing time honoring my friend Tenique’s 34 years of excellent service in the U.S. Airforce. Our dynamic keynote speaker shared this quote: “The jump is so frightening between where I am and where I want to be. Because of all I may become, I will close my eyes and leap.” In the Airforce, their standards are: • Integrity First • Service before self • Excellence in all we do Super powerful! They surely ignited a moment of regret that I didn’t pursue my military aspirations. Nevertheless, I’m certainly elated that my friend did and successfully completed that chapter of her journey. The mission continues. Tenique we certainly honor you and thank you for your service. #retirement #service #military #airforce

Only 21% of U.S. employees strongly agree that they trust the leadership of their organization. Cultivating a culture of trust in the workplace may present its challenges. Trust has proven to be an essential component of high performing teams.   One action many organizations may not attribute the erosion of trust to the perpetual practice of canceling and/or rescheduling events and meetings. This process of announcing an event and thereafter striking the event has several negative consequences. Frequent cancellations can signal a lack of respect for others’ planning, priorities and time, demotivation of team members and eroding of trust.   Prior to scheduling your next meeting check for conflicting events or priorities to ensure the timing of this meeting is suitable for all invited.

Today is the first day of Black History Month, where we celebrate many of the notable accomplishments and people who have called our country home. However, we tend to focus on the past and not the present when we highlight these illustrious individuals, so we'll shake things up a bit and highlight someone noteworthy, who is still making history as a trailblazer. That person is our current County Executive of Prince George's County, Maryland, Angela Alsobrooks. Here are a few of her political accomplishments: 1. First female County Executive, Prince George's County 2. First female State's Attorney, Prince George's County 3. Prince George's County's First Full-time Domestic Violence Prosecutor A lifelong Marylander, Angela was born and raised in Prince George’s County. Angela was taught from a young age to care for her neighbors and give back to her community – urged on by the words of her great-grandmother not to sit on the sidelines but “go farther and do better.” Angela heard an early calling to public service and after graduating from Duke University and the University of Maryland School of Law, she worked as a law clerk in the Howard County Circuit Court, and later the Baltimore City Circuit Court, before becoming the first full-time Assistant State’s Attorney to handle domestic violence cases in Prince George’s County. Angela held a variety of roles in county government before making history as the youngest and first woman to be elected Prince George’s County State’s Attorney. As the county’s top law enforcement officer, Angela stood up for families, taking on some of Maryland’s worst criminals, while treating victims and the accused with dignity and respect. Under her tenure, violent crime dropped by 50 percent and she established a first-of-its-kind unit to investigate and prosecute police and official misconduct. Please join the Wave Welcome team in celebrating this amazing woman who is still making history!👏🏾 #blackhistorymonth2024 #angelaalsobrooks

Thank you Maria D. James, M.S. for the invitation to the 12th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast. It was inspiring, uplifting and certainly forward moving. The Guest Speaker, Rev. Dillard asked “When did we become so selfish?” This inquiry coupled with highlighting the mission and vision of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. compelled all in attendance to consider "Life's most persistent and urgent question, 'What are you doing for others?'" As we embark upon one of the best years of our lives… remain others minded. The world needs your supply.
