From his groundbreaking Commission on World Hunger, to ending the purchase requirement for food stamps, to expanding support for the people who grow our food in the US, President Jimmy Carter was a lifelong champion in the fight to end hunger and poverty. His down-to-earth style and hands-on approach have called generations of leaders to service and will no doubt inspire many more to come. Rest in peace, Mr. President.

Recently, Governor-elect Joshua Stein and family visited the Food Bank for their regular volunteer shift, packaging fresh produce and sorting incoming food donations. Stein is a longtime Food Bank supporter and anti-hunger advocate, leading the annual North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) "Legal Feeding Frenzy" fundraiser during his years as Attorney General. We look forward to seeing more of him as our next governor! #NoOneGoesHungry

The Carolina Hurricanes mascot Stormy stopped by recently to make the team's annual donation of turkeys for our friends and neighbors facing #hunger this holiday season. The Hurricanes also donated additional turkeys and non-perishable food items for our friends MANNA FoodBank - Asheville NC who are facing higher demand for food assistance this year as the region continues to recover from #HurricaneHelene
