The numbers are in, and November was another record-setting month for travelers choosing to fly through Ontario International Airport! Thanks in no small part to a busy Thanksgiving holiday, ONT welcomed 600,909 travelers last month. That’s a 4.3% increase from the same month last year. And it means we hit a 45-month streak of year-over-year record passenger totals! Here are some fun facts from our November numbers: 🧳 Domestic passengers accounted for 568,556 of the November total, which is up 6.2% from last year. 📦 Air cargo volume at ONT increased by 4.8% in November to 71,442 tons. 📨 Mail volume saw a remarkable 308% increase in November. 🛫 Year-to-date cargo volume reached 710,423 tons, which is a 5.7% increase over 2023. 🏆 With 6.4 million passengers so far this year (a 10.2% jump from this time in 2023!), we’re on track to break our annual record and hit 7 million travelers. Heading home for the holidays? Or dreaming of a holiday getaway? You’re not alone! 🎄✈️ We’re expecting more than 350,000 passengers to travel through ONT during the peak holiday travel period, starting December 19th and ending January 5th. That’s up 22% from the same time five years ago, before the pandemic hit, as your airport continues its impressive year-over-year growth. Our busiest travel days should be December 19th, December 22nd and December 29th, with more than 22,000 passengers expected to pass through ONT on each of those days. We recommend giving yourself extra time if you plan to travel this holiday season. You can also take advantage of services such as TSA PreCheck and CLEAR to speed through security.
