🍓 ‘Florida Brilliance’ 🍓 Fruit of ‘Florida Brilliance’ displays excellent quality and flavor. In flavor evaluations conducted by a trained sensory panel (USDA/ARS Hort. Science Research Laboratory, Ft. Pierce, FL) at five different points throughout two seasons, fruit of ‘Florida Brilliance’ consistently scored higher than ‘Florida Radiance’ and ‘Florida127’ in firmness ratings. In the same panel, ratings for sweetness and “strawberry flavor intensity” were not different than ‘Florida Radiance’ and were often lower than ‘Florida127’. In general, the soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), and SSC/TA ratio of fruit of ‘Florida Brilliance’ is very similar to that of the fruit of ‘Florida Radiance’. #FloridaAgriculture #Strawberry

Finger Limes consist of hundreds of tiny, tangy juice vesicles, which has led some to refer to the fruit as “citrus caviar” due to their shape, desirability, and high price. Like other types of citrus fruit, finger limes have great nutritional value, few calories, and a high vitamin content. The improved cultivars of Finger Limes released by the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) citrus improvement program such as 'UF Redlime', are anticipated to be highly marketable as their wide variety of uses and flavors can appeal to a large audience of consumers.
