About us

The Filippo Berio brand has been committed to creating high-quality olive oil for more than 155 years. Founder Filippo Berio set forth exceptional standards of olive oil production that are still rigorously followed today, with each bottle sold bearing his signature as a seal of the finest olive oil and the brand’s promise of quality. From distinctive olive oils to a selection of pestos, vinegars, balsamics and glazes, all featuring the finest ingredients and high production standards, the Italian brand focuses on creating great-tasting and accessible products to elevate at-home cooking and eating experience. As a brand, one of Filippo Berio’s core values is continuous improvement and innovation. Currently sold in more than 75 countries, Filippo Berio USA Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Salov Group, based in Lucca, Italy. Filippo Berio USA is the first among the leading companies in the U.S. olive oil category to have introduced a recyclable bottle made from 50% recycled plastic (rPET). Filippo Berio’s planet-friendly packaging is just one illustration of the brand’s long-term commitment to sustainability, which is laid out in a comprehensive and transparent manner in the sustainability report recently released by the brand’s parent company, the Salov Group. The sustainability report can be found at https://filippoberio.com/sustainability/ and describes the integrated farming methods that ensure quality and sustainability at every step of the production process, as well as the company’s well-documented measures to reduce emissions, improve water and waste management processes, decrease energy consumption, and reduce the noise impact of its operations at its headquarters. • When it comes to our new line of eight tomato-based sauces, our CEO Dusan Kaljevic says it best, “Time is always at a premium, but consumers shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality to be able to prepare a nourishing and flavorful meal in minutes.”   It’s our focus on uncompromised quality that led us to create recipes with fresh, clean ingredients like 100% Italian tomatoes and our high-quality Filippo Berio extra virgin olive oil in every jar — Marinara, Tomato Basil, Arrabbiata, Roasted Garlic, Mushroom, Traditional Italian, Olive and Grilled Vegetable. With no added sugars, each one is very versatile, fulfilling a unique need in the kitchen, from layering in lasagna to dressing pasta, meat or seafood.   Additionally, each variety features a vibrant, eye-catching label, with a veritable rainbow of flavors and culinary experiences calling to shoppers from the shelf.   Read more in Progressive Grocer: https://lnkd.in/gjWq7xK3 Find our delicious sauces in a store near you: https://lnkd.in/gSrsWDgR

  • As part of Careers through Culinary Arts Program’s Summer Job Training program, C-CAP students gather every year in New York City and get inspired by industry professionals, gain hands-on experience and receive expert mentorship. After finishing the training, the students go on to paid internships to further hone their skills. This year, Filippo Berio USA Ltd.’s team – Marco De Feo, Marco Auriti, Young Koepke and Carlo Gualdoni – hosted an educational olive oil workshop.   Students learned about olive oil production, olive oil health benefits and most importantly, different kinds of olive oil types and flavors that would work best in their food preparation and cooking. They all put that learning into action in the kitchen and created beautiful dishes by using Filippo Berio olive oils.   Thank you to C-CAP for having our team of experts be a part of this amazing opportunity! It was inspiring and thought-provoking to experience the future chefs’ passion and excitement in using and appreciating our products in their innovative culinary experiments!

Two recent studies from researchers funded by the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation suggest lifestyle interventions like exercise and healthy eating can be used to modify—and potentially halt—the progression of Alzheimer’s. This research adds to the growing body of evidence showing that prevention through lifestyle changes, like a healthy diet including olive oil, may play a critical role in decreasing the risk of Alzheimer’s or slowing progression of the disease. We’re so proud of our exclusive partnership with the ADDF to help raise awareness of the incredible work this organization is doing to find a cure for Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

Two studies published recently by ADDF-funded investigators in Alzheimer’s Research and Therapy build out the growing body of evidence that #LifestyleInterventions will have a considerable impact on Alzheimer’s. The studies, published by Miia Kivipelto, MD, PhD, and Dean Ornish, M.D., both suggest that lifestyle interventions like exercise and a healthy diet can be used to modify—and potentially halt—the progression of #Alzheimers. “Lifestyle interventions are a vital component of the future of Alzheimer’s care that will be administered alongside #novel therapeutics to stop the disease in its tracks,” notes Howard Fillit, MD, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of the ADDF. “Aging is the leading risk-factor for Alzheimer’s. Research shows implementing modifications, such as exercise and diet, likely slows the cascade of aging dysfunction and can help maintain #CognitiveReserve and reduce the risk of comorbidities like cardiovascular and metabolic dysfunction.” Read our statement here: https://bit.ly/3xh9y3m
