For those of you that attended the December Board of Pharmacy meeting in Lansing today either in-person or virtually, thank you! If you did attend, you witnessed some really exciting things! There was a lot of great discussions and really innovative ideas proposed that have the possibility of changing how we practice pharmacy in the state of Michigan! I am so proud of our rules committee for proposing really innovative ideas that I feel can have a tremendous impact on patient safety, and quite honestly, the overall well-being of our pharmacy teams. Pharmacy students! I also want to share some of the great things our interns are doing to position themselves for success and something many of you should try. You have to get involved as much as possible! Dayna Gesinski is a P3 pharmacy intern from the Ferris State University College of Pharmacy and she once again reached out to me to attend this month‘s meeting. Kudos to our schools of pharmacy for producing some of the brightest and best students in the country! She had the opportunity to listen to 31 cases presented in front of the disciplinary subcommittee. She sat through the board of pharmacy meeting. She met some wonderful people in our industry. Pharmacy students today are more talented than ever….. BUT you have to position yourselves for success by continuing to build your network, continue to learn new skills and surround yourselves with people that truly care about you. If you do this, I promise you that you will be successful.
