🍏 Classic Apple Pie Recipe – A Slice of Comfort 🍏 Looking to add a warm, homemade touch to your Holiday? This classic apple pie recipe is the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and buttery goodness – a perfect dessert this Merry Season! 🛒 Ingredients: 6 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples (a mix of tart and sweet apples, like Granny Smith & Honeycrisp) 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed) 2 tbsp all-purpose flour 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp butter (cut into small cubes) 1 package of pre-made pie dough (or homemade, if you prefer) 1 egg (for egg wash) 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash) 🔪 Instructions: In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice. Then, add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until evenly coated. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to release the natural juices from the apples. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F Roll out one portion of the pie dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Pour the apple mixture into the pie shell, and then dot the filling with butter cubes. Top the Pie: Roll out the second dough portion and place it on top of the apples. Trim any excess dough and pinch the edges to seal. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Create an Egg Wash: Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of milk, and brush it over the top of the pie to create a golden finish. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
