EVAdoption

We are very excited to announce that Paren, an EV charging data and analytics provider based in San Francisco, has acquired my company EVAdoption, and CEO Loren McDonald has joined Paren as Chief Evangelist. Paren, co-founded by Florent Breton and Bill Ferro, who earlier this year merged his charging reliability data company EVSession into Paren, also has closed $3 million in Seed funding. Florent and Bill have a very exciting and very big vision for Paren, and the timing was right to join forces and bring our respective data sets, expertise, and product roadmaps together. We were not seeking to sell EVAdoption, but after conversations with Florent and Bill, we became extremely excited about the vision of the company, and the opportunity for us to tap into new types of charging data, have access to more resources, and create increased value for our existing and future EVAdoption and Paren customers.   In fact, since early 2024, Bill and Loren had been discussing the idea of building a joint data product that would leverage EVSession’s (now Paren) fast charger reliability data with EVAdoption’s EV and EV charging data sources. This ultimately led to several discussions starting in June with Loren, Bill and Florent to potentially join forces. For EVAdoption customers, nothing will change but very soon we will bring to market expanded data and product offerings and resources that will provide additional value and depth.   Loren will still be swimming in, analyzing, and sharing EV, EV charging, and NEVI data — in fact as Chief Evangelist that will be his full-time role. This is a role Loren very excited about and returns him to an evangelist role, which he held for roughly 15 years in the marketing industry previous to founding EVAdoption. In the coming weeks Florent, Bill, and Loren will share more details on the vision and product roadmap of Paren — but for now we just wanted to share the exciting news that EVAdoption is now part of Paren.
