ESSEC Accounting and Management Control Department reposted this
I was invited to present with Professor Marcela Porporato, from York University, at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. During the first day of the Qualitative Research and Critical Accounting 2024 Conference. Some takeaways: Same phenomena can be addressed from several angles, with complementary theories. A good research pipeline combines a stream of projects that share some complementarities, building a more or less consistent path in time. As sustainability information is increasingly available, researchers will be more and more expected to come up with tools to make sense of that information. Thanks to Catalina Alberto, Dra. Lic. Congratulations, Yosra AleAhmad!
I'm thrilled to share the fantastic news of Yosra AleAhmad's successful PhD defense! 🎓 Her groundbreaking thesis, 'Three Essays on Management Control, Gender, and Valuation', offers valuable insights into how management controls reproduce gender inequality in organizations as well as how emotions can play a significant role in the legitimation of calculative practices, such as the valuation of human life. It has been a privilege to supervise Yosra and witness her dedication and hard work. 👏 A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed defense panel - Claire Dambrin, Lukas Löhlein, Lukas Goretzki, and Christoph Endenich—for their insightful feedback that greatly enriched the defense. Wishing Yosra all the success in her new career at Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). I have no doubt she will continue to achieve great things in her future endeavors. Please join me in congratulating Yosra on this significant achievement! 🎉 #PhD #Research #ManagementControl #GenderStudies #Valuation ESSEC Accounting and Management Control Department ESSEC Business School
