ENVRI - the Community of European research infrastructures providing FAIR & Open Environmental in situ data
About us
The ENVRI community is a community of Environmental Research Infrastructures. Although very diverse, all the Research Infrastructures share the same challenges, both in their constructions and operations. Our community thus encourages and facilitates joint work to develop the synergies, share the best practices, and harmonize the Research Infrastructure landscape, their products, and services. The ultimate goal of ENVRI community is to enable multidisciplinary Earth system science. We work together to make our data and services findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable to enable high quality and holistic understanding of the Earth system.

At #ICRI2024 in Brisbane, global Research Infrastructures (RIs) united around climate action and sustainability. ICOS and our partners and collaborators from #GERI, ENVRI community, #ENVRIHubNEXT, GEORGE project, IRISCC, and KADI Project were prominent throughout the programme, highlighting how environmental RIs drive progress on climate resilience. Key moments included: 📊 KADI’s Patricia Nying'uro, HSC & Werner Leo Kutsch Kutsch on the need for global RI collaboration and equitable funding. 🌊 GEORGE’s Yann-Hervé De Roeck & Emmanuel Salmon on improving ocean and Earth observations. The Brisbane Statement, a major outcome of the conference, placed climate change at the forefront of global research priorities. It called for stronger international cooperation and emphasised the role of RIs in driving climate action, promoting a green transition, and fostering sustainable development through research and innovation. Projects like #NUBICOS are already advancing these goals, expanding global climate services and developing the next generation of RI experts. ICRI 2024 reaffirmed the critical role of ICOS and environmental RIs in driving global climate action. The conference highlighted the need for continued collaboration, fair funding, and interdisciplinary efforts to support a green transition and build a sustainable, resilient future. ➡️ Read more about the ICRI highlights on our website: https://lnkd.in/dt5ZHWzG #EUResearchInfrastructures #ClimateAction #ResearchInfrastructures #ClimateResilience #GreenTransition #ClimateChange #HorizonEurope #HorizonEuropeProject #BrisbaneStatement
