Paychecks vs Passion: The #Entrepreneurship Dilemma
I am wrapping up an online class on #entrepreneur #leadership. A student commented that one takeaway from the experience was her realization that the difference between entrepreneurship and a job is #passion.
That was music to my ears ... or to my eyes?
One thing I emphasize when I mentor young entrepreneurs is that not everyone needs to be an entrepreneur. In fact, if you start a business just to make money, all you are really doing is creating a job for yourself. The difference is that you also get to deal with the risks, stress, and sleepless nights. Fun, right? 🙃
Here’s the thing: a good-paying job can offer financial freedom and much better work-life balance, all without the headache of payroll taxes and midnight inventory checks. If wealth and stability are your goal, mastering a trade or skill is likely the smarter, saner path to financial freedom.
Entrepreneurship is a different beast. It’s fueled by passion ... the kind of passion that makes you want to get out of bed at 5 a.m., the kind that keeps you going when times get tough, and the kind that makes you say, “Yeah, this is worth the stress.”
So this Monday, remember passion is what fuels your why, and it's not just a motivator, it’s the basis of meaningful work. If you find it in whatever work you do, whether you are an entrepreneur or climbing the corporate ladder, you are #winning.
So, what is fueling your passion this week? Share your inspiration in the comments below! 🔥
