Struggling with networking at holiday events? Here’s a simple guide to help 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 shine this season. The holiday season is here, and with it comes series of year-end gatherings, office parties, and community events. For seasoned career women, this is the perfect time to deepen your professional connections and plant seeds for new opportunities in the year ahead. Here’s how to approach holiday networking with confidence and ease: 1️⃣ 𝗕𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 Before attending an event, set a clear goal. Are you reconnecting with colleagues? Meeting industry peers? Or introducing yourself to new faces? Knowing your purpose helps guide your interactions and keeps conversations focused. 2️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Skip the typical “So, what do you do?” Instead, lead with warmth and curiosity. 𝗧𝗿𝘆: “What’s been the highlight of your year so far?” This creates meaningful dialogue and sets the tone for authentic connection. 3️⃣ 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗲𝘁 The holidays are about generosity—apply this to your networking, too. Offer support, share resources, or make introductions. Your willingness to help builds trust and strengthens relationships. 4️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 After the event, send a quick email or LinkedIn message to those you connected with. Mention something specific from your conversation to show you valued the interaction. This season, give yourself the gift of stronger professional relationships. Let’s make 2025 your most connected year yet! 📩 Looking for more ways to elevate your networking strategy? Let’s chat. Seasoned career women - The conversations you’re avoiding could be the key to stronger leadership. Here’s Julie Flowers’s advice to make every conversation count. You’re leading a team, and one of your top-performing employees has started missing deadlines. You know the conversation needs to happen, but just thinking about it makes your stomach flip. What if they get defensive? What if it damages your working relationship? Tough conversations like this are inevitable in leadership—but they don’t have to be dreaded. Here’s how seasoned career women can handle these moments with clarity and impact: 1️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Instead of jumping to conclusions, ask open-ended questions to understand the root of the issue. 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: “I’ve noticed a change in your work recently. Is there something going on that’s impacting your ability to meet deadlines?” This approach shows empathy while creating space for honest dialogue. 2️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 Keep the conversation centered on the behavior or outcome, not personal traits. 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: “Meeting deadlines is crucial for our team’s success. Let’s talk about how we can get back on track.” This avoids blame and shifts the focus to solutions. 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 Invite them to co-create a plan for improvement. 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: “What steps do you think we can take to ensure success moving forward? I’m here to support you.” This empowers them while strengthening your partnership. 💡 Why It Matters: Mastering difficult conversations helps in building trust, clarity, and a leadership style rooted in understanding and respect. 📩 Are you ready to elevate your communication skills and lead with confidence? Let’s work together to refine your approach to leadership challenges. Book a session with Julie Flowers today. Book a meeting date here - https://lnkd.in/gy_k8DX9 #Womeninleadership #womenempowerment
