Eigen Labs is a research organization focused on contributing to protocols that supercharge open innovation on Ethereum.

About us

Our team is remote-friendly, with a strong presence in Seattle and NYC. Founder Sreeram Kannan was a professor at the University of Washington, and the Head of the UW Blockchain Lab. The first team members came out of that lab. Our culture is characterized by intellectual curiosity, collaborative debate, ownership mentality, integrity, and respect. Our mission is to build coordination engines that empower open innovation. This mission has a beginning but no end. We consider ourselves players in an infinite sum game.

  • As the year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on some incredible milestones that highlight the trust, innovation, and progress driving EigenLayer forward: 🌟 close to $20B in Total Value Locked This reflects the confidence of our community in EigenLayer’s security and utility. It also fuels economic activity and liquidity, powering a thriving decentralized ecosystem. 🌟 close to $5B in Mainnet AVS Fully Diluted Valuation A clear signal of market belief in the transformative potential of Actively Validated Services, built on our pioneering re-staking model. These achievements are more than just numbers—they’re a testament to: ✅ The strength of our network and the adoption of EigenLayer’s vision. ✅ A growing ecosystem of builders, applications, and services relying on EigenLayer for security and scalability. ✅ The emergence of re-staking as a cornerstone of decentralized infrastructure. Thank you to our community, partners, and team for making 2024 a year to remember. Here’s to pushing boundaries and shaping the future of decentralized systems in 2025! #2024YearInReview #EigenLayer #ReStaking #Web3 #DecentralizedFinance

Twinstake Contributes to EigenLayer Codebase to Enhance Institutional Restaking Twinstake actively supports #EigenLayer, the leading restaking platform, in its efforts to cater to institutional participants. While restaking has largely been driven by retail stakers, institutional interest is growing. Twinstake has been at the forefront, offering expertise to clients and projects to align with institutional standards. As one of the first 30 operators on EigenDA’s testnet, Twinstake has helped shape the platform by providing feedback on validator requirements and participating in ecosystem calls. Our detailed report, EigenLayer: An Institutional Perspective, outlines key institutional needs, serving as a guide for both stakeholders and EigenLayer's development team. Twinstake’s Infrastructure Engineer, Aivaras Kondrotas, further contributed by enhancing the DelegatorApprover contract, simplifying its use for operators managing vetted delegators. This update has been integrated into EigenLayer’s codebase to strengthen the platform. For institutions exploring restaking opportunities, Twinstake combines expertise with a commitment to fostering networks that meet institutional-grade requirements.
