"Blatino" 🇵🇷 spreadsheet jockey, entrepreneur, author, recovering banker & VC, working tirelessly to support "underestimated" founders.

It's that time of year again where we get together to celebrate Black founders, get them some cash and hear their stories. We ten years removed from our first event and so we thought we would level things up a little;) In 2025 we will do multiple events, starting with Pitch Black "Food" on February 27th, at The Redd in Downtown #Portland. We will have six chefs serve a meal for a 100 guests. Our emcee that evening will be Kimiko Matsuda who will lead us through the courses, introduce us to the chefs and ensure we all have an amazing time. As usual, our guests are tasked to be the ones that decide which of the chefs leave with the most prize money. Now here's what you do next; - if you want to be one of the chefs, head over to the site and fill out your application (we close applications at 11:59pm on the January 17th) - if you want to be one of guests, head over and grab one of the 100 tickets - if you just want to support the cause (you were late trying to get tickets weren't you) please share this post and tell others about the event Lots more to come on this event along with a few more surprises;) Jelani Memory Vanport Studio #PitchBlack #SupportBlackBusinesses www.pitchblack.org

The new year is good time to look forward to the promises and concerns that lie ahead. In addition to setting individual and professional goals for the year, many people are watching the possibility for sweeping political changes. Merriam-Webster made "polarization" their word of 2024, and it goes beyond political division to an increasing number of family estrangements. We’ll get ideas on staying positive and on track for what’s important in 2025. GUESTS D.J. Eagle Bear Vanas (Odawa Nation), motivational storyteller, host of the PBS special “Discovering your Warrior Spirit”, and author of "Warrior Within" published by Penguin Random House Ronda Rutledge (Cherokee Nation), executive director of Ecotrust Arnold Thomas (Shoshone-Paiute Tribes), vice chairman of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation
