Make sure to go vote this weekend. While Measure 118 promises rebates for Oregon residents, the price could be too high. The tax on large businesses may lead to higher costs for all Oregonians—affecting everyone from shoppers to small business owners. The economic ripple effects could harm job growth, discourage investment, and lead to budget shortfalls. It’s important to examine the full picture before making a decision.

We hope everyone had a great Halloween! #ecpowerslife

Before supporting Measure 118, consider the potential fallout: a tax on business sales could mean price hikes, job losses, and reduced competitiveness for Oregon businesses. Even businesses that are barely profitable will face this tax, and the burden could ultimately fall on consumers. With concerns from both unions and business leaders about Measure 118, it's crucial to look deeper into how its passage could harm our local economy. #Vote #ecpowerslife

Our team is out showing support to Make-A-Wish Oregon at their annual fundraiser "Sketching Dreams". A fantastic organization that provides amazing support and encouragement at times where it's needed the most! Glad EC can be a part of it!
-
Oregonians, please note: Measure 118 might sound promising, but it could have significant negative consequences. By imposing a 3% tax on businesses with over $25 million in sales, we risk raising prices for everyday goods, threatening local jobs, and creating uncertainty for Oregon’s economy. Consumers and small businesses would likely face higher costs.

We are excited to announce that Jon Orrell, RCDD has been promoted from Executive Vice President to President of EC Electric, effective October 1st. Jon has been with EC since 1997 and has been instrumental in the company's accomplishments and unprecedented growth in that time. Jon has worked closely with CEO Andrew Beyer, serving as one of his most trusted team members. A problem solver and inventor, Jon's talent for identifying and addressing challenges spans from operational improvements to creating innovative home devices. His ability to craft tangible solutions runs the gamut from enhancing operational efficiency and safety to spearheading team-building activities like the Pinewood Derby. Andrew Beyer, CEO of EC Electric, shared, “Jon has done a remarkable job building great teams and strong client relationships across our regions. He has also delivered a sustained focus on improving processes that carefully consider the impact on our field teams.” Jon's contributions have become a core part of EC's DNA. We are announcing a key leadership transition at EC Electric, effective October 1st. Andrew Beyer will continue as CEO, stepping back from his role as President. Over the past nine years, Andrew has led EC Electric through unprecedented growth and has been instrumental in creating our core values of integrity, safety, quality, equity, fulfillment, and profitability. In line with this transition, we are excited to announce the promotion of Jon Orrell, our current Executive Vice President, to the role of President. Jon’s exceptional leadership and deep operational insight make him the ideal candidate to lead alongside Andrew as we enter this exciting next chapter for EC Electric. Chairman Robb Ball said, “As the Company has grown and gotten more complex under Andrew Beyer’s excellent leadership, it has become important to separate the roles of CEO and President. We've prepared for this transition and it will help us serve our clients well and seamlessly. The Company is fortunate to have two such outstanding people to lead our future.” Andrew’s leadership philosophy has always extended beyond the bottom line, focusing on the character and collaboration of our employees. He has consistently encouraged everyone to contribute their two cents, fostering a culture of open dialogue and innovation throughout the company. Andrew’s journey never included the usual "CEO track." As a woodworker and artisan, he believes deeply in the value of craftsmanship. His prior role as a teacher reflects his lifelong commitment to nurturing talent and skill. A CEO with calloused hands, Andrew truly embodies the spirit of craftsmanship that is woven into the fabric of EC Electric. Please join us in congratulating Andrew and Jon as they embark on their new roles and continue guiding the future of EC Electric.
