About us
East Bay Housing Organizations (EBHO) is the leading affordable housing advocacy coalition serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Founded in 1984, EBHO is a membership nonprofit organization dedicated to working with communities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties to preserve, protect and expand affordable housing opportunities through education, advocacy, and coalition building. With a membership of nearly 400 organizations and community leaders, this dynamic organization brings together nonprofit affordable housing developers, architects, planners, contractors, homeless and housing advocates, service providers, fair housing agencies, tenant advocates, community and interfaith organizations and activists, clergy and congregations, labor unions, environmental organizations, lending institutions, intermediaries and policy organizations, and city and county agencies and staff to advocate for affordable housing development and equitable housing policies at the local, regional and state levels.

Join the Sustainability Commission Contra Costa County’s Sustainability Commission is looking for new members! The Sustainability Commission helps the County improve the health and safety of everyone who lives and works here. The Commission provides advice on how to deliver programs that provide clean energy to homes and businesses, safe biking and walking routes, more trees and gardens, and readiness to increasingly extreme weather. There are openings for people who represent community groups, commercial businesses, environmental justice communities in the eastern part of the County, and education or research institutions.
