What a way to wrap up the year! 🎳✨ Last night, our Dwelling Place staff came together for a fun-filled bowling party to celebrate all we’ve accomplished in 2024. From trophies 🏆to belting songs doing karaoke 🎤 to heartfelt moments, we’re so thankful for our amazing team! Here’s to an even brighter 2025! Big thanks to Clique Lanes and their staff for helping our event be a huge success and Quick Time Burritos and Tacos for the delicious spread! 🎳🌮

Rich's journey to Dwelling Place is as inspiring as it is heartfelt: "When I was interviewed by the former CEO, I told him I’d be happy to push a broom or be on a board—it didn’t matter to me. I must not have been very good with the broom because here I am! 😊 My family has experienced life below the area median income, from living in subsidized housing to experiencing homelessness, alcoholism, and mental health struggles. Today, I’m proud to help others find stability through housing." Fun fact: Within the last 10 years, Rich reconnected with both his biological dad’s and mother’s families through ancestry.com and has been enjoying getting to know them! Thank you, Rich, for your passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Dwelling Place mission. ❤️

BLBC Facilitators take part in a five (5) week training course to equip them with the skills and information needed to lead BLBC workshops that focus on understanding ourselves as leaders, understanding our community, and taking action in our community. Yesterday, our team members Ben Stehouwer, Jeremy Bergwerff, Justin Kremers, MBA, Matt Miller and John Rietema joined our partners from Genesis Non Profit Housing, Dwelling Place and Little River Band of Ottawa Indians to celebrate the groundbreaking for Leonard Apartments, a 55-unit new development in the West Grand neighborhood of Grand Rapids, MI. The project includes 9 units set aside for Native American tribal members and 22 units with Project Based Vouchers (PBVs), ensuring access to safe, affordable housing for all. We're proud to be an investor alongside our funding partners Huntington National Bank, IFF (CDFI), Kent County, the City of Grand Rapids and Michigan State Housing Development Authority. Through our shared commitment to affordability, tribal inclusion, and expanding housing options, we're creating a positive, lasting impact for seniors and strengthening the fabric of our local communities. #LIHTC #AffordableHousing #AdvancingCommunities
