2025 predictions 🔮 The new year is likely to see a continued rise in the use of specialty medications, GLP-1s in particular, and the aggravations that go along with prior authorization, Colin Banas, M.D., M.H.A., Chief Medical Officer, told Physicians Practice. "While many healthcare providers and patients enthusiastically embrace these breakthrough drugs, the new uses come with heightened frustration due to complex and time-consuming processes," he said, adding that the weight loss drugs are also showing promise as a treatment for heart disease and Alzheimer's.
