I read about this on HBR.org and the message really resonated because when Jeremy Ames and I started Guidant Financial in 2003, we wanted culture to be a competitive advantage. In fact, our mantra was "we spend more time at work then with our families, so we better believe in what we do and love who we work with, otherwise what's the point?" When DOXA Talent launched, Michael, Lauren, Ira, Edward and I wanted to create a workplace that valued people and purpose over profit. Culture was, and continues to be, a competitive advantage. And kindness plays a big part in that strategy.
