Doral Contemporary Art Museum alongside Boa Mistura, Ponce + Robles, Laundromat Art Space, and Ministerio de Cultura Y Deporte, on Sunday, December 1, 2024. DORCAM invites you to the launch of RE-ACT, a project by the Spanish art collective Boa Mistura, during Miami Art Week. This large-scale mural transforms the Laundromat Art Space, highlighting the impermanence of art and public space, and encouraging reflection on what is worth preserving in a constantly changing city. Boa Mistura, evolving from street graffiti to gallery work, explores the tension between private and public spheres through RE-ACT. Will you be a force of preservation or erasure? https://lnkd.in/eGG6S74G #MiamiArt #BoaMistura #DORCAM #MiamiRealHiddenGems

  • Boa Mistura is an artistic collective founded in Madrid in 2001 by Fine Arts graduates and artists, currently active with Pablo Ferreiro, Pablo Purón, and Javier Serrano. Their name means "good mix," symbolizing their collaboration. They primarily work in public spaces, aiming to transform relationships between people and their surroundings. Boa Mistura has completed projects in over 40 countries, collaborating with organizations such as the UN, Amnesty International, and Greenpeace. In an exciting development, the Doral Contemporary Art Museum is thrilled to announce an upcoming surprise with Boa Mistura. This affiliation promises to bring curious art to Doral. Through this collaboration, residents and visitors both will have the chance to interact with Boa Mistura's distinctive vision, which seeks to create a bond between art and the community. Stay tuned for more details on this inspiring initiative! https://lnkd.in/eGG6S74G

  • On Saturday, November 9th, the opening of the POP-UP photographic exhibition "LATENT FISSURES" took place. The exhibition celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Berlin Wall's fall. This collection featured documentary snapshots from 1989 by Jorge Andres Castillo and additional photos from 1983 by Victor Rodriguez Castillo, focusing on reunification and freedom. Jorge Castillo discussed his experiences documenting Berlin and presented exclusive images from December 1989 during the Opening Talk on Saturday, November 9th, 2024. During the VIP Cocktail, we celebrated freedom with notable attendees, including General Consul Christofer Burger and Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez, as we enjoyed this significant exhibition at CityPlace Doral. At DORCAM, we place a strong emphasis on education and honoring historical heritage.

It was so rewarding to have my work featured in the DORCAM last Friday. My classmates and professors put a lot of careful planning into it, and thank you to everyone who came out to support us! My thesis project is a dual-format campaign that invites viewers to rediscover the profound benefits of engaging in the natural world via a printed magazine paired with an animated cover page. Through vibrant illustrations and bold typography, The Movement Movement presents how reconnecting with nature promotes meaningful relationships, well-being, and growth.

  • Experimental Short Films was held by the Doral Contemporary Art Museum and the Miami short Film Festival on August 15, 2024 at CityPlace Doral, FL. Many of today’s problems arise from misunderstandings of how people live, love, and work across different cultures. A powerful way to address these misconceptions is by immersing the audience in cinematic experiences to showcase the complexities of life in those contexts. Among the short films were: “At Words’ End” by Julius Stakišaitis (Lithuania), “Pass:on” by Pablo Daniel Magee (UK), “Retrospection of a Home (once upon a time...)” by Sebastian Marcano-Perez (USA), and “Moving Barcelona” by Jevan Chowdhury (UK). Debates concerning significant issues affecting not just filmmakers but humanity at large were sparked after the show. Residents of Doral interacted with visiting filmmakers during the festival, cultivating a feeling of community. We ♥ cinema at Doral Contemporary Art Museum. And we ♡ when a viewer leaves a screening with the impression that they have witnessed something innovative or simply plain fun. We valued your attendance.
