Our Prefabrication Team is hard at work supporting the Fontaine Energy Project by assembling above-ceiling conduit racks and junction boxes with pre-drilled holes. Each piece is meticulously labeled and accompanied by a detailed spool drawing outlining its location and any critical notes. Working in a controlled environment not only enhances safety but also improves efficiency, allowing us to stay on schedule and maximize resources. From precise measurements to ensuring pipes are filed for smooth wire pulls, every detail counts. We’re grateful for the hard work and attention to detail that makes our prefabrication department a key part of our success! #PrefabricationPower #ElectricalContractors #Teamwork #Innovation #WeGetItDone

January is National Mentoring Month! This month, we proudly celebrate our amazing mentors and mentees, whose commitment to learning, sharing knowledge, and personal growth leaves a lasting impact on our team and the success of our projects. Our mentorship program is designed to provide a well-rounded experience, giving mentees the skills they need to grow. Look for participants on our job sites proudly displaying our mentorship sticker! We’re inspired by our mentees’ humility and determination as they master the electrical code and refine their craft, and by our mentors, who invest their time and energy into shaping the next generation of skilled professionals. Throughout January, we’ll be sharing insights and stories from our mentors and mentees. Stay tuned for a closer look at how mentorship helps us grow stronger together! #NationalMentoringMonth #MentorshipMatters #BuildingTheFuture #commercialelectricalcontractor

It was both refreshing and inspiring to connect with so many lovely ladies at the annual Woman's Empowerment Network Summit! I was reminded to incorporate gratitude and self care into a daily practice and to intentionally look for others to lift up - actions that will help me to bring the best version of myself to my professional life. I really appreciate the genuineness and vulnerability of the speakers and panelists who shared their wisdom and experience. #WomensEmpowerment #EmpowermentSummit #LiftEachOtherUp #GratitudeAndGrowth #SelfCareMatters #ProfessionalDevelopment #WomenInLeadership #InspiringConnections #WomenSupportingWomen #PersonalGrowthJourney #IntentionalLiving #AuthenticLeadership #GratitudePractice #LeadershipThroughEmpowerment #SelfCareForSuccess Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce Victoria (Tori) Terrell, CCIFP Kathy Dowdy Cassandra Roop Kari Coffey Tonya Barton

Currently, we’re focused on blowing strings through all our conduits to prepare for Saturday’s concrete pour! This step is essential to confirm each stub-up is at the correct height above the finished floor, as concrete will soon cover our underground work. By threading strings through each conduit, we’re setting the stage to pull the ropes and, eventually, the wiring back through – all while keeping the pipes clear of any water buildup. As we finish the under-slab conduit work, our team is getting ready to swab out the pipes, pull ropes through, and gear up for the next phase of wire pulling. After Saturday’s pour, we’ll be seeing steel set up soon, and once everything’s dried in, it’ll be time to bring in the switchgear, distribution panels, automatic transfer switches, and UPS. Prefabrication has been key for both the underground slab and will continue to be with our overhead racks, helping us keep on track for a smooth transition to the overhead phase. Stay tuned as we move forward with this exciting project! www.designelectricinc.com #ConstructionProgress #ElectricalContracting #ConduitWork #UndergroundUtilities #StringingConduit #ElectricalInstallation #Prefabrication #BuildingWithPrecision #ProjectMilestone #ConstructionUpdate #TeamworkInAction #FutureReady #SwitchgearSetup #ConstructionLife #PoweringProgress #SitePreparation #ElectricalTeam #ReadyForNextPhase

UVA Northridge Project | Our team is installing a new generator system to enhance power reliability for the building, which includes integrating a new Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), a switchboard, and an external load bank. This complex setup requires rerouting the main feeders from Dominion Power through the switchboard and back into the building. To ensure safe and efficient power distribution, we’ve constructed a substantial concrete junction box around the transformer, designed to secure and protect the system’s critical connections. This installation presented unique challenges. To avoid damaging existing infrastructure, our team hand-dug to locate the primary feeders buried approximately five feet underground before any heavy excavation began. The work area is tight—around 2,000 square feet—requiring precise coordination between excavator operators and other crew members to navigate safely and effectively within this confined space. A major milestone will occur on the 26th, when we’ll initiate a planned three- to four-day power shutdown to tie the generator system into the building’s main electrical infrastructure. This shutdown will allow us to complete critical connections and finalize the system integration, ensuring minimal disruption and reliable functionality. A huge shoutout to our team for their commitment and know-how in making this happen! #TeamworkInAction #PowerReliability #ElectricalContractors #InfrastructureUpgrade #SafeAndEfficient #PowerDistribution #CriticalConnections #TeamAppreciation #SkilledWorkforce #ElectriciansAtWork #BehindTheScenes #DedicatedTeam #BuildingStrong #PoweringTheFuture #PrecisionAndSafety #JobWellDone #ConcreteSolutions www.designelectricinc.com

UVA Old Med School Switchboard Replacement | We’re in the final stages of our project at UVA’s Old Med School, working in collaboration with general contractor SRC. The final distribution panel (DP3) has been installed, piped, and wired, enabling us to complete the last circuit cutover and remove all outdated equipment. Currently, we're in the midst of a significant demolition phase, including the removal of a 208 bus duct and transformers, and are on track to finish the project by the end of November. Kudos to our awesome team and all of their hard work! www.designelectricinc.com @SRC, Inc. #ProjectUpdate #UVAMedicalSchool #SwitchboardReplacement #ElectricalContracting #ConstructionProgress #GeneralContractor #CommercialElectrical #OnTrack #HealthcareConstruction #BuildingExcellence #ElectricalUpgrades #CollaborativeProjects #EndOfProject #Teamwork #ElectricalIndustry #ConstructionUpdates
