  • Last Friday, DT Attorney Zachary Marks was sworn into the Hawaii State Bar. The swearing in ceremony took place at the Supreme Court of Hawaii and was moderated by Chief Justice Rechtenwald. Zach is also admitted to the State Bars of California and Washington, as well as the United States District Court for the Central District of California. DT would like to congratulate Zach on his admission and all his hard work!

  • Yesterday, DT Attorney Shea Ward was sworn into the Michigan State Bar by Judge Jacob James Cunningham in Oakland County Circuit Court. DT Managing Partner Larry Jenkins was proud to sponsor Shea for her admission to the Bar and several DT attorneys were present for the occasion. Shea started at DT as a Law Clerk in April of 2023 while attending law school at the University of Detroit Mercy. DT is excited to formally welcome Shea on board as its newest Associate.

  • DT is monitoring the #Mountain #Fire in Southern California. The Fire ignited November 6, 2024, near the intersection of Balcom Canyon and Bradley Roads in Somis, California (Ventura County). The Fire is 7% contained and has burned over 20,500 acres. The Fire has already damaged at least 130 properties. Impacted ZIP Codes include 93020, 93021, 93010, 93011, 93012, 93066, and 93060.   DT is ready to investigate subrogation potential for any claims you have arising from this event.   • DT is monitoring the #Airport Fire, which is currently active in Orange and Riverside counties in Southern California. The Airport Fire ignited at 1:21 p.m. on September 9, 2024. The blaze started in the unincorporated community of Trabuco Canyon, and spread towards the city of Rancho Santa Margarita and eastward into the Santa Ana Mountains, where it crossed over the ridge of Santiago Peak into Riverside County. An investigation into the Fire revealed it was ignited by a Public Works entity using heavy equipment near the Riverside County Airport. The fire has burned 23,519 acres and is 95 percent contained. The Fire has destroyed 160 structures and threatens thousands of others. Impacted ZIP codes are 92675, 92678, 92679, 92530, 92703, and 92883.   DT would be happy to represent your subrogation interests on any claims you have arising from the Airport Fire, or any other CAT losses you may have. Our Wildfire Team is monitoring various wildfires that are burning in California and New Mexico, including:   California: The #Post Fire ignited at 1:52 p.m. on June 15, 2024 on southbound U.S. Interstate 5 near Gorman Road in Gorman, CA. The Fire threatens properties in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. Impacted ZIP codes include 93243, 91310, and 91384.   The #Hesperia Fire ignited at 6:49 p.m. on June 15, 2024 near the 18000 block of North Highway 173 near Arrowhead Lake Road in Hesperia, CA (San Bernadino County). The impacted ZIP code is 92352.   The #Point Fire ignited at 12:33 p.m. on June 16, 2024 in Sonoma County. The fire ignited in the unincorporated area known as Geyserville, CA. . Impacted ZIP codes include 95441 and 95448.   The #Sites Fire ignited on June 17, 2024 at 1:39 p.m. along Sites Lodoga Road near Wilson Creek in Colusa County, California. Impacted ZIP codes include 95979, 95987, and 95988.   The #Aero Fire ignited on June 17, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. The fire originated along Aero Road and Hunt Road, near Highway 4 north of Copperopolis, CA. The impacted ZIP code is 95228.   New Mexico:   The #South Fork Fire ignited around 9:00 a.m. on June 17, 2024 in the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico (the same Village where the McBride Fire ignited in 2022). Approximately 500 structures are reportedly damaged. The Fire is currently burning on Mescalero Tribal Land and in the U.S. National Forest. Impacted ZIP codes include 88340 and 88345.   The #Salt Fire also ignited around 9:00 a.m. on June 17, 2024 in Otero County, south of the Village of Ruidoso. Impacted ZIP codes include 88340 and 88345.   DT’s wildland fire origin and cause experts are at the ready to begin their investigation as soon as authorities permit access. We would be happy to pursue subrogation on your behalf for these losses, or any wildland fire losses you may have.   • This week, DT Partners Paul Casetta and Glenn Mattar attended the Loss Executives Association (#LEA) Annual Spring Educational Conference in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island. As always, the Conference had fantastic educational workshops and it was great to catch up with clients as well as colleagues. Additionally, the LEA golf outing was a great time, with Glenn even winning the closest to the pin award. DT would like to thank the LEA Officers, Board of Directors, and all volunteers that worked to run such a great conference.
