“Nutrition is vital to longevity and overall health, and it can be very sensitive for many individuals. We come to every patient with personalized solutions rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.” -Vanessa Rissetto, MS, RD, CDN We're thrilled to officially share that Culina Health has raised $7.9 million in Series A funding. Food insecurity is a public health issue with direct impacts on cardiometabolic health. Recent research published in JAMA highlighted the significant negative impact of food insecurity on the health of Latino individuals of Mexican ancestry. Findings showed that 30.3% of participants experienced food insecurity, which was linked to poorer diet quality, larger waist circumference, and higher HbA1c levels, even after adjusting for age and BMI. We’re committed to advancing nutrition equity, because access to nutritious food is essential for everyone’s well-being. This study underscores the need for culturally-sensitive interventions that address food insecurity to improve health outcomes in vulnerable communities. #nutrition #nutritioncare #healthequity #registereddietitian #RD #healthy #foodinsecurity #health #wellness

Lead RD Rachel Brief recently shared essential insights at the New Pause Symposium, highlighting how early healthy habits can set up women in their 20s and 30s for long-term wellness through every life stage. Key takeaways: ✔️ Exercise for strength, not weight loss: Building muscle helps counter the effects of decreasing estrogen, boosting metabolism, energy, cognitive function, and reducing inflammation. ✔️ Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition: Eating for lower inflammation—focusing on fiber, healthy fats, and plants—can ease menopause symptoms. Aim for 25-30g of protein and 10g of fiber per meal to support muscle and gut health. ✔️ Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): HRT is a personal decision, potentially helpful in managing menopause symptoms, including joint pain and mood shifts. Encourage patients to consult their doctors to make informed choices. These foundational strategies can empower women to feel their best through each life stage. #HRT #hormonereplacementtherapy #registereddietitian #RD #nutrition #wellness #womenswellness
A Friday reminder as you wrap up your week — your relationship with food doesn’t have to be perfect to be healthy. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the advice, trends, and expectations around nutrition. But when things feel chaotic, focusing on small, intentional choices can make a big difference. You can control how you nourish your body today. Maybe it’s drinking an extra glass of water, adding one more vegetable to your plate, or simply letting yourself enjoy your favorite treat without guilt. Progress, not perfection, is the foundation of a healthy, sustainable approach to nutrition. Take it one step at a time, and be kind to yourself along the way. #registereddietitian #RD #health #healthy #wellness #healthjourney #nutrition
Nutrition and lifestyle choices account for up to 80% of your health outcomes, according to the World Health Organization. While genetics do play a role, what you eat, how much you move, and how you manage stress are key factors in preventing chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and even some cancers. #nutrition #wellness #health #healthy #registereddietitian #RD
