About us

A learning and mentoring community to provide unwavering support and an unparalleled learning experience to first-time technology leaders, seasoned CTOs, and dedicated tech team leads. At CTO Craft, we work with CTOs and other senior technology leaders, technology teams and entire businesses to build professional and leadership skills. We offer organised and bespoke coaching, mentoring, and personal development opportunities, including our CTO Craft Community, conferences, workshops, training, and our learning platform, Campus. Our journey began with a simple vision in 2017 when founder Andy Skipper (ex-CTO at Made.com, Comic Relief and many other technology organisations) wanted to improve the quality of technology leadership in organisations by: • Providing key support to leaders throughout their careers • Improving their relationships with others and the work itself • Reducing the chance of burnout and imbalanced energy demands

  • Get ready for this week's TMW highlights! Wow - when the CTO Craft community gets its teeth into a topic, there's no shortage of input and insights.. Last week we asked them to 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, and dozens of replies came back immediately. Here are some of our top picks - what are yours?  • Accountability and blame are used interchangeably  • Middle managers have responsibilities and accountabilities without having any sort of decision-making authority  • Hero awards for people working overtime to fix critical issues (which they mostly caused themselves)  • Meetings to set dates and times for meetings Top reads of the week:  - A field guide to team dynamics and conflict - https://lnkd.in/e6gM7gGu  - A bad system will beat a good person every time: The red beads experiment - https://lnkd.in/ePeCBiCP  - Product management is broken. Engineering can fix it. - https://lnkd.in/ebxi7jaX This issue of TMW is sponsored by CTO Craft's Mentoring Circles; the fastest way to build confidence and learn from other technology leaders.  Schedule a free chat to learn more - https://lnkd.in/eJN5zs5T Want all the juicy details in the weekly newsletter? As a CTO, your time is your most valuable resource. When I talk to tech leaders, one thing is clear: choosing how to spend your time is about more than ROI. It’s about ROT – Return on Time (Not the most appealing acronym, I know, but stick with me...). That’s why we’ve designed #CTOCraftCon: London with you in mind. It’s not just another conference; it’s two days with a special kind of energy. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the difference: a space where tech leaders truly come together to share, learn, and grow. We take feedback from attendees after every event and use it to shape the most relevant and useful experience for you. Here’s what makes CTO Craft Con worth your time: - The Right People: You’ll connect with peers who truly get it. Every attendee is a tech leader navigating similar challenges, so every conversation adds value. - Actionable Value: No fluff, no filler. Every session delivers insights you can take straight back to your team. - Shared Experiences: The top of the ladder can be lonely. This is a space to connect with others who’ve been where you are and learn from their journeys. We know it’ll be the best time you can spend as a technology leader. Don’t just take our word for it – join us and experience it for yourself. CTO Craft Community members get the best rates, and it's free to join for Senior Tech Leaders.
