This month, hardworking 2nd-6th graders put their financial skills to the test—saving, spending, and donating their hard-earned “money” from classroom achievements. Each quarter, The Alpaugh Family Economics Center at UC’s StEP program helps students make real-world decisions about managing money, with support from volunteers who visit local schools to guide them and celebrate their choices with fun prizes! #personalfinance #moneymanagement #education

We are honored to be among the recipients of a grant from the Ares Charitable Foundation on this #GivingTuesday. The grant will support CEE's personal finance and economic education programs in low-to moderate income communities and help scale up our youth financial education programs, teacher professional development activities and advocacy efforts across the northeastern U.S. We are grateful for the Ares Foundation's commitment to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This #GivingTuesday, the Ares Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce $4.5 million in newly awarded grants to nonprofits that help advance economic mobility in our local communities. On a day that celebrates the power of global generosity, we are honored to support organizations that share our commitment to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Since launching in 2021, the Ares Foundation has awarded more than $66 million in grants to nonprofits worldwide for strategic, mission-aligned initiatives. The San Diego Center for Economics Education, an affiliate of CEE, recently hosted a Family Financial Fun Night, where students and their families enjoyed engaging, hands-on activities centered on financial literacy. With a foundational understanding of personal finance and economics, young people get the tools they need to make informed financial decisions and create a better life, not only for themselves but those around them!
