  • A huge thank you to the UH Construction Management Industry Advisory Board, Rich Fanning and ABC/ABC Student officers for hosting the tailgate for our Construction Management Alumni and Students.

The UH Construction Management Industry Advisory Board held it's annual UH Football tailgate this past Saturday and it was a great success! Unfortunately, the Coogs lost but the tailgate event was a win! We hosted over 80 students, alumni, faculty, and IAB members. A special thanks go out to the CM students who set up, cooked, entertained, and cleaned up. Homero Villarreal, Ivan Rivera, Jai Culbeath, Joel Prado, and Victor Gonzalez, knocked it out of the park, these guys were amazing. Homero and Ivan cooked and served over 100 hamburgers and 70 hot dogs, nobody left hungry. This event was a success because of this crew, they never stopped the entire day. These students are the future leaders of the construction industry and showed they're capable and willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. Also, thank you to Professor Dwight Beadle, Tommaso Zaffaroni (AGC UH Chapter President), and Danny Granados (ABC UH Chapter President) for helping organize and host the event.   A couple of other shout-outs: Thank you to the CM IAB members that came out, Denis Ducran, Javier Granados, and Marcos Gonzalez, thanks for the support guys. Kristen Jons - thanks for coming by with Alejandra Duran and Kiran Dodia, another couple of up-and-coming CM stars. #Gocoogs

  • Another Big Event on May 7th was the UH CM Hardhat ceremony recognizing the hard work of the students graduating from the program. Graduates heard from University Leaders and Industry Executives who both congratulated them and encouraged them as they start their careers in Construction Management. Each graduate in attendance was then awarded a UH CM Hard for the efforts. Go CM Coogs!!!!

  • The UH CM Joint IAB meeting on May 7th was a big success. We heard updates about the CM Program from Dr. Senouci, about ongoing research the department is active in, and from the student organizations. But the big news that was shared by the Executive IAB leadership was the announcement by the CCOE Interim Dean that The Construction Management program will merge with the Civil and Environmental Engineering department and will be remaining on the main campus. The meeting also kicked off the restart of the four sub committees (Marketing &Membership, Curriculum, Research, and Student Success). Thanks to all those who were in attendance.
