Synthetic Biology & Biological Manufacturing. #bioamazing
About us
Conagen is an accomplished biotechnology company located in the greater Boston biotech corridor. We innovate and develop synthetic biology solutions for supporting global partners across a spectrum of current and developing markets. From our proprietary strain development to fermentation and process scale-up, Conagen impacts partners’ abilities to sell and market products in the food, nutrition, flavor and fragrance, pharmaceutical, and renewable materials industries. Our bio-manufacturing capabilities, coupled with extensive platforms of enzymes and microorganisms, gives us the edge in commercial biotechnology. Nature is our inspiration for designing metabolic pathways, improving production organisms, and optimizing production processes. Our discovery and development methods foster sustainability and improve efficiency—from lab to world scale. Plant biology ignited the spark for the creation of Conagen. Today, our bioengineering teams are experts in enzymatic bioconversion and fermentation technology. Nature is our guide for innovating ways to produce natural products and materials. This approach gets us to market faster with better products made competitively and sustainably. Simply, our distinction is creating molecules that are identical to what nature produces. Many of the innovative natural products we make at Conagen are truly proprietary. They are the only ones on the market that are made by natural fermentation which means they are produced biologically and sustainably unlike most chemically synthesized products. As a vertically integrated biotech company, we engage in research and development as well as world-scale production. The advantage at Conagen is our ability to direct the manufacturing of our products. We can rapidly scale our strains to produce what our partners need while maintaining the highest level of quality control throughout the entire process. Scaling up from micrograms to metric tons is our expertise.

Synthetic Biology’s Path to Sustainable Food Systems As the world's population climbs and the planet's resources face increasing strain, the question that haunts us is, "How will we feed the future?" Click here to read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gDVkeG_n In this SynBioBeta Insights article, Embriette Hyde makes a convincing case that synthetic biology might have the answer. Speaking with folks such as Lou Cooperhouse, Founder and CEO at BlueNalu. Max Jamilly, Co-founder at Hoxton Farms, Rob Leclerc, PhD, Founding Partner at AgFunder, Neta Lavon, Co-founder and CTO at Aleph Farms, Andrew D Ive, Founder at Big Idea Ventures, J. Casey Lippmeier, Senior VP at Conagen, and Jean Louwrens, Co-Founder & CEO at De Novo Foodlabs, Embriette was able to explore the pivotal role of synbio in revolutionizing our food systems, from cultivated meats that no longer require vast tracts of land, to fermentation techniques that are creating nutrient-packed foods with less environmental impact. Many of the folks listed above will be at #SynBioBeta2024, discussing this topic in great detail. The future of food is not just about what we eat but how it's made. And it's looking more sustainable, ethical, and innovative than ever. #SustainableFood #CellularAgriculture #Innovation #FutureOfFood

Did you know that #Textilewaste is more burdensome to the #planet than in decades? With the advent of "Fast Fashion," twice the amount of clothes are produced than in the year 2000. The number of times a garment is worn has declined by around 36% in 15 years. More than 2.6 million tonnes of returned clothes ended up in #landfills in 2020 in the US alone. We are aiming toward the goal of less textile waste. Conagen's Debondable Adhesive solution enables garment manufacturers to debond garment adhesives on demand and to rework and recycle garments. This saves millions of tons of #garments from going to landfills and saves manufacturers costs. #cleanplanet Happy #EarthDay2024 #EarthDay Learn more about Conagen's Debondable Adhesives for Textiles, and other materials. ⇢ https://lnkd.in/dhcWagX5 Read more at Earth.org on textile waste⇢https://bit.ly/3WbJVem
