FAIR HOUSING PROGRAM AT COMMUNITY TEAMWORK ‘Steering’ is a form of housing discrimination in which someone looking to buy or rent is directed towards or away from a community building based on their protected class status (like race, religion, national origin, or family status). Anyone in the business of housing, including a realtor or a property owner, can steer buyers and renters. They may not have any bad intentions—they might think that they are helping but it is still discrimination. It is up to the tenant to decide if they will be comfortable and content among their neighbors. If you think you have been discriminated against, either through steering or through another form of discrimination, contact the Fair Housing Program at 978-654-5637 or fairhousing@commteam.org. #FairHousing #HousingDiscrimination #EqualHousing #RealtorEthics #CommunityInclusion #FairHousingAct #HousingEquity #DiversityInHousing #StopSteering #RealEstateAwareness

Today is #GivingTuesday, an international day of giving back and supporting nonprofits. Today, YOU have the opportunity to make a difference in our community. For 60 years, Community Teamwork’s caring and dedicated staff has provided resources and opportunities for low-income people to achieve stability and self-sufficiency, with the hope of a better future for them and their families. Thanks to the generosity of our dear friends and donors, over this last year we were able to assist 56,000 individuals in more than 70 different cities and towns. Our collective accomplishments are too many to list, yet our work is not done. We know that many families are struggling to pay their utility bills or buy healthy groceries. We know that hundreds of individuals in our community are unhoused and facing another night outside, or in their cars. We know that we need YOUR support now more than ever. On this #GivingTuesday, we hope you will consider a gift to Community Teamwork. No matter the size of your gift, every dollar counts and will be put directly to work to support those who need us most. Click this link to make your gift today: https://lnkd.in/euZZYe7Y Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can build a stronger community.
