Thanks to the team at CommonShare (Alexandra Cifuentes Martin S. and everyone else!) for organizing the Sustainability, AI, and Innovation Summit at Norrsken Barcelona this last week! Joining Louis Millon (from semi-frequent Cerulean Ventures collaborator Systemiq Capital) on our fireside chat, we got to take a perspective we don’t usually take on stage but both have experience in - selling established companies on partnering with startups and what mistakes to avoid (from taking our own lumps!). By the sound of it and the amount of questions we got it was somewhat useful - better than my typical zero value add VC work 😉 Great to meet folks like Magdalena Pavlak-Chiaradia Romain Liot and others with impressive backgrounds in sustainable and regenerative procurement Lots of great progress being made in the industry! Shout out to Norrsken for continually providing an amazing place to convene for change makers in my current home city 🙏

This past Friday in Barcelona CommonShare hosted the 1st annual Sustainability in AI & Innovation Summit. About 60 people in person and another 1000+ online. We discussed topics related to #traceabily #sustainability, partnering with #VentureCapital, #AI, boardroom strategies and so much more. The list of speakers was immense with a broad deep understanding of the topics at hand. I was honored to moderate two discussions during the day. The first was a Percpective from the Board Room where I was honored to have Romain Liot Founder & CEO of #adoreme speak from a CEO percpective on what is needed to mainstream sustainability in business. Secondly the esteemed Fatine Layt, with her deep investment and board experience provided a needed percpective on decision making. I then also had a discussion with Chuck Rogers from Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services on the importance of PO-level traceability and it's role in compliance. How technology is the only way forward with this level of detail needing analysis and verification. All in all, it was an intense day in a beautiful setting of Norrsken Barcelona.
