IN THE NEWS: Following the successful completion of the application review, 727 applications will move forward to the lottery stage. This includes all categories except for the Open Retail category, which will have a separate lottery planned for December. The Licensing Lottery will be streamed live on Facebook Live on October 24, 2024. #Delaware

FRUSTRATIONS OVER INITIAL LICENSING PROCESS DELAY This year, state lawmakers approved a 'preapproval' process for business licenses, allowing certain entrepreneurs to plan ahead for the anticipated market launch next year, even while the rulemaking process is still ongoing. The remaining business licenses are expected to be issued next year. In the summer, the Office of Cannabis Management initiated this process by pre-vetting social equity applicants, who are eligible to apply for the early licenses.
