a.m. Rodriguez Associates inc. and CMS housing hosted a grand opening for its latest development Edgewood Retirement Residence. Senator Jay Costa of the PA Senate District 43 and County Executive Sara Innamorato spoke at the event this September among other distinguished guests. These 52-units of affordable senior housing were built by Franjo Construction Corporation using passive house construction methods. The project was recognized by The Building Envelope Campaign from the US Department of Energy for implementing sustainable improvements in new construction. Designed by Avon Design Group and funded by Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency , Allegheny County Economic Development , Bank of New York Mellon, and RBC Capital Markets; Edgewood Retirement Residence is the first in Allegheny County to be located within a retail center where seniors will have easy access to transportation, shops, and medical care within the retail shopping center.
