2024 was a big year for #Kubernetes. We celebrated it turning 10! It’s amazing how far the platform has come. Now, the way I see it, Kubernetes feels like the operating system for modern applications. The ecosystem around AI, data workloads, and serverless continues to grow. Lightweight distributions let you run Kubernetes almost anywhere. Operators are making it easier to manage data services at scale. KubeVirt got the attention it deserves as a powerful bridge for migrating traditional VMware-based workloads into Kubernetes. All this is huge! While it was easier than ever to run Kubernetes-based workloads, I’m really impressed with how organizations placed an even stronger focus on data protection and compliance. Security features, from image signing to pod security, became part of everyday workflows. Tools that helped teams track and trust their software supply chain gained more adoption. Policy engines were more widely implemented. The Kubernetes community worked hard to keep clusters safe and secure. I’m proud that our team at #CloudCasa had their 2 cents input into that with great features like application-centric backup, granular restore enhancements, backup encryption, and immutability, and finally, cross-cluster and cross-cloud restores that make Disaster Recovery a lot easier and less stressful. Looking ahead to 2025, there’s so much promise—more security best practices. Better developer experiences. More focus on compliance. And new frontiers for edge and AI. The community is charging ahead and our CloudCasa | K8s Backup, DR, Migration team is all on board to keep bringing the best #data #protection, #DR, data, and application mobility framework for anything containers and Kubernetes.
