About us
Clothes To Kids of Denver (CTKD) proudly provides school clothing to students from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro Area, FREE of charge. Central to the CTKD mission is our 3,000-square-foot boutique where students ages 3-21 are invited to browse our wide selection for a wardrobe, which includes 5 outfits, 1 pair of shoes, 1 coat and 5 pairs each of new socks and underwear. The wardrobe also includes extras such as accessories, school supplies and winter gear. Students are invited to shop with us twice per year. The students who shop at CTKD are experiencing some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable – poverty, homelessness, displacement and home removal. We envision a community where all students have the clothing they need to feel comfortable, confident and prepared to thrive. To be eligible for clothing from CTKD, students must live in Metro Denver, be enrolled in grades preschool-12, or pursuing a GED (21 years old and younger) and be in need of assistance. Students automatically qualify to shop at CTKD if they qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch (FRL), if they attend a school where 70% or more of students qualify for FRL or if they are in foster or kinship care. Students who do not automatically qualify to shop can be referred by a school, service agency, shelter, counseling center, hospital or clinic or place of worship. CTKD’s attractive store-like setting, combined with our emphasis on providing shoppers with the best possible quality, selection and customer experience make CTKD the preeminent clothing resource for students in need in the 10-county Denver Metro Area. By creating a welcoming, store-like environment where some of the most vulnerable students in our community can select clothing, CTKD aims to enhance shoppers’ sense of dignity and help to pave a path for their academic success. In 2018, CTKD celebrated its 10th year of service by giving away its 1,000,000th piece of clothing and its 50,000th wardrobe.

Our good friend Betsy Abrams (center with our development director Valerie Lunka, right, and founder Joyce Meyers, left) recently held her annual benefit brunch and ornament exchange supporting Clothes To Kids of Denver and Kenya's Kidz. Betsy's generous guests donated $2,500 in gift cards and checks to CTKD! Such a fun way to celebrate the holiday season. We love you, Betsy!

Earlier this month, we were the fortunate beneficiary Kristana Kane's Jingle Bell Brunch. It was such a fun event, plus Kristana's generous guests brought hundreds of clothing items and donated $1,475! Special thanks to long-time Clothes To Kids of Denver supporter Peter Harnisch and Blackbird Public House for stepping up to host the gathering on short notice. #thankyou #weloveourdonors #happyholidays

That smile you get when you find the PERFECT winter coat! A heads up for anyone with coats or other donations to bring...Saturday Dec 14 (1 week from tomorrow) will be the last day to make a clothing donation in 2024. Although we will continue to serve shoppers Dec 17-Dec 21, this break gives us time to catch up before closing for the holidays and our annual inventory count (Dec 22 – Jan 6, 2025). This is the only time of year that we stop accepting donations, so we hope that you will save them for us until we reopen on Tuesday Jan 7. Thank you for your support!

All of us at Clothes To Kids of Denver have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Thanks to YOU - our donors, volunteers and supporters - we have already given away nearly 13,000 school wardrobes in 2024. Each wardrobe that we provide makes a difference in the life of a student in need. As you celebrate this holiday weekend, please remember our heartfelt appreciation and that of our shoppers. #thankyou #happythanksgiving #grateful

Our amazing volunteer super-shopper Kathy (right in photo) was invited to Walmart Supercenter # 2892 in Parker to receive a very generous $2,500 donation. Their team has always been so good to us and we are thrilled for the opportunity to celebrate our partnership! #thankyou #companiesthatcare #nonprofit #community
