  • We're excited to share that several of our team members recently participated in the Upstream book study! This series challenged us to shift our focus from reacting to problems to preventing them. By adopting an upstream mindset, we can identify and address root causes, leading to more sustainable and effective solutions. We're inspired by the stories and strategies shared during this series and look forward to applying these principles to our work.

  • This week the Cottage Grove Public Safety (CGPS) kicked off the 2024 Citizen’s Academy. The Citizen's Academy is a free program designed to educate community members of the inner workings of the Cottage Grove Police Department. For the first week, participants gathered at Cottage Grove City Hall to get an overview of CGPS from Chief Koerner and had the opportunity to learn about the Police Reserve Unit and Police Explorers from members and advisors. The session was capped off with a tour of the facility. Next week's agenda will include a tour of the Washington County Emergency Dispatch Center and the jail, as well as engaging presentations from members of our Community Impact Team’s County partnership units.
