The City of San Leandro is one of the most diverse cities in the nation located at the center of the dynamic San Francisco Bay Area. The San Leandro Public Library is seeking a dynamic Supervising Librarian to join our energetic team and help us transform library services in our vibrant community.    The San Leandro Public Library is a forward-thinking, energetic and dynamically evolving organization with four unique facilities including our Main Library, and three branches varying in size from 10,000 sf to 780 sf. The Mulford-Marina Branch is undergoing major expansion and upgrade, with architectural plans nearing completion and construction expected to begin in late 2024.   • Incoming Council Members Take Oath of Office, Outgoing Council Member Honored Council Member Pete Ballew was honored for his Eight Years of Service on the City Council San Leandro, CA: The December 16, 2024, City Council meeting welcomed the oaths of office for incoming District 6 Council Member Dylan Boldt, District 1 Council Member Sbeydeh Viveros-Walton (finishing remaining term of former Council Member Celina Reynes), second-term District 2 Council Member Bryan Azevedo, and second-term District 4 Council Member Fred Simon. A family member, friend, or elected official swore in each incoming council member. After the oaths of office, the officials articulated brief comments of gratitude and policy visions. The meeting recording can be viewed on the City’s Meeting Central website. The four council members will officially take office on January 1, 2025. Additionally, outgoing District 6 Council Member Pete Ballew was honored for his eight years of service. He was presented with a resolution acknowledging his council service and numerous public service achievements.

  • Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon On Wednesday, November 27th, for the first time since 2019, the City of San Leandro’s Human Services Department, in partnership with Spectrum Community Services, held a Thanksgiving Luncheon for older adults at the Senior Community Center. Approximately 250 people celebrated the holiday gathering with delicious food, friendly company, and raffle prizes donated by individuals and community groups. This event could not have been possible without the support of some 30 volunteers, many of them from local service organizations.
