Updates

  • During the January 6 City Council Meeting, Mayor Hatley, along with City Council, proclaimed January as Back the Blue Month in North Myrtle Beach and reaffirmed our commitment to fostering a safe community where all residents can thrive in peace and harmony. The men and women of law enforcement perform a vital public service in protecting the lives, property, and freedoms of all residents and visitors within our community. We recognize the daily sacrifices and dedication of our police officers, who uphold the law and ensure the safety of our neighborhoods. It is important that all citizens recognize the duties, responsibilities, hazards, and sacrifices of local law enforcement. Back the Blue Month is an opportunity for our community to show gratitude and support for our law enforcement officers and to foster a spirit of collaboration between the public and the police. The City encourages all residents, businesses, and community organizations to "Paint the City Blue" by displaying blue lights, ribbons, and other blue-themed decorations as a visible symbol of support for law enforcement.

Throughout her six consecutive terms as Mayor of North Myrtle Beach, Mayor Hatley, along with City Council, has been a steadfast advocate for the growth and enrichment of local parks and recreational facilities. Her tireless efforts and commitment to improving the quality of life for residents have resulted in over $100 million in funding for various parks and recreation initiatives.
