In addition to processing and issuing ID cards, the Specialist will participate in outreach efforts to educate marginalized communities about the program’s benefits and eligibility. This role involves using specialized software and hardware, verifying application eligibility, and ensuring accuracy in document checks. The Specialist will assist residents in person, at the main office, and at off-site events like mobile pop-ups, community organizations, and schools. They will also support the Program Manager in planning and executing ID distribution events at various locations. Education and Experience: ·        High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social services, or a related field preferred. ·        2+ years of experience in customer service, community outreach, or public service roles. Experience with ID programs, social services, or local government is a plus. ·        Experience working with marginalized communities, such as youth, homeless individuals, LGBTQ+ and TGNC people, immigrants and refugees, re-entry citizens, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. ·        Experience using hardware such as ID printers and cameras, with the ability to troubleshoot basic operational issues. The Program Manager will work to build trust, transparency, and accountability between the City of New Orleans and community members regarding the municipal identification card program. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including project management, managing marketing efforts, maintaining software and hardware for ID processing, supervising customer service, and fostering partnerships with community organizations and businesses. This role is critical in ensuring that the Municipal ID is accessible to all residents and serves as a valuable tool for social inclusion and economic empowerment. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus). Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate ability to perform the duties of the position. Preference for program management, particularly in a government or nonprofit setting. Experience overseeing customer service operations and managing teams. Demonstrated ability to establish partnerships and collaborate with community organizations and businesses.  Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.  Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and communities and understand the unique needs of marginalized communities.
