A memorable moment for him was assisting a resident during a water line issue—working through challenges and seeing her satisfaction with the outcome. Tim fondly recalls the unforgettable Cooper Street water line break—a chaotic moment turned team-building experience as everyone came together to solve the issue. He shared, the public works team was practically swimming in the water trying to fix the break. Reflecting on his crew, Tim appreciates the camaraderie and mutual respect they share, knowing they can count on each other to get the job done. They have fun, while getting the job done! When it comes to traditions, Tim values how the City of Melissa supports its employees, especially during the holidays. JD finds immense joy in his role, especially as part of the Melissa Motors Unit, where riding the department's new motorcycles is a highlight. Officer Collins's dedication to the community shines in his actions. On a particularly hot day, he noticed an older woman struggling with a flat tire. Despite the heat and extra effort required to unload her groceries to access the tire, Officer Collins changed the flat tire for her. His kindness and willingness to help left the woman deeply grateful. As a training officer, he cherishes the opportunity to mentor new officers, sharing memorable experiences such as helping a rookie retrieve their vehicle from a tricky spot along Highway 75. For Officer Collins, these moments of connection and camaraderie define his role. What he values most about the Melissa Police Department is the family-like environment, where each person is more than just a number—they’re treated as individuals. He especially looks forward to city traditions like the annual Christmas party, which he describes as a wonderful way for colleagues to come together and celebrate the season. Marivel cherishes her team’s strong bond, noting how they operate as one unit, regardless of titles.
